They will probably also enjoy the "pets ahoy" show, it's a bit too cutesy for most adults, but kids of that age really seem to enjoy it. Also allow time for them to enjoy "Shamu's happy harbour" play area, there are loads of rope climbs, bouncy castles and slides etc. Other things they will love (probably) is feeding the dolphins, seals/sealions and rays. The dolphins is the most popular of these events and their fish sell out quickest, you need to be in line to buy the fish at least 30 minutes before the windows open for selling the fish.
The 5 y old may just be the right age to appear in the Whale and Dolphin show (it's either 3/4 or 4/5 they like. I can't remember). If they are "up for it" it's worth getting them to the stadium 30 minutes before show time and if you see a CM wander about , with a clip board, at the front of the arena get your kid to go ask them a few questions about the dolphins ( older sibling may be needed to prompt the younger one

) . What do they eat, what do they feel like etc. This CM has a duty to find a kid to be in the show and from what I can gather they are pretty keen to get this done with a minimum of effort. If they get a kid that's confident enough to ask them questions, seems interested in the dolphins and is the right age they are a shoe in for the job

. It makes it a pretty special day if you're lucky enough to have the "star of the show" picked from your family. For girls a pretty dress is an added bonus (one you're not too attached to

I won't go further in case I spoil the show) , a change of clothes isn't a bad idea unless you like them smelling of seawater and fish for the rest of the day
