NO! More snow on the way this week! Another central MA Diser here. Pretty it is, but a month ago I was enjoying warm weather at WDW with my family and I want it back!

Okay, dreaming of winning a trip too. Congratulations to the winners! It is so exciting planning and knowing a trip is coming. I'd love just to be there again, never mind staying a night in the castle or staying deluxe! Happy planning winners!

I hope the storm the next one isn't anything. But I have people telling me it will be worse. I hate winter.
Last year I was at WDW in February during one of the big ones. It made the winter so much more bearable.

The prize value is reported to the IRS on a Form 1099. You will report it as income. Figure that your tax liability will be around 33%, depending on your federal tax bracket, your state's rate, and any local taxes.

There is another trip-to-WDW contest going on right now with a prize valued over $16,000. I am not entering that one. No way do I want to pay more in taxes for a 5-day / 4-night trip than I am paying for 10-day / 11-nights. All I can think about that one is that the prize must be staying in one of those new Poly units that go for $2,000+ / night. It is sponsored by National Geographic.

Ya no thank you. I'm not going over my head in vacation spending. My comfort zone starts being violated after about $3,000. Then again there is only 2 of us since our boys want nothing to do with Disney and I'm not sharing a room with another couple. LOL I don't like anyone that much and DH won't let me go with girlfriends to the Castle. Spoiler.
Can you imagine 4 adult women staying in the Castle. That would be so fun.

The costs of flights is what is making me say OUCH~! I'm not sure if Disney would be willing to hold off on the airfare.... United is the only one offering for the later part of the year. I don't want to pay such high taxes because of AIRFARE!

I imagine they will work with you to keep the price in your limits. After all why would they want to pay more for something if they don't have to.

We live along Rt 3 near Nashua NH ... We dug out around 5, but have a good 2 inches of fresh snow since then! Argh!

Sounds like there is what 5 of us on here from Central MA. Guess the cold winter has us all wishing and dreaming and ready to go.

This is actually kind of funny that so many of us are from a very close area.

Looks like we have a couple of you going down for school vacation week in February. Have a blast. Will pray for your flights to be on time going down. Coming back....eh...maybe you will be lucky like my friend with pixie dust.

I got a text. Her husband loves POR and doesn't want to leave.

I'm looking at the weather news tonight and it's looking like I'll be home all week. It will give me more time to plan my winning trip.

Another person from MA. I live in Stoneham MA. It's north west of Boston. Got quite a bit of snow and what someone I know called a blizzard Monday into Wednesday. Not sure how correct that info is though.

I want to congratulate all the winners. I hope you have wonderful trips and have a ball in the Castle.

If I won, I'd only be bringing 1 friend with me to keep tax costs down and plus I don't like sharing a bed. Even with a friend. I'm a big girl and 6 feet tall so I need my room to sleep. I would want to stay at 1) Grand Floridian 2) Yacht Club 3)I think it's the Wilderness Lodge The one Near MK. I would want to go in second week in November if I won and could pick when to go. I want to buy tickets to MVMCP and see all the Christmas decorations.

Truth is I haven't been to WDW in almost 21 years and we never stayed on property. I went when I was 11yrs., 13 yrs., and 20 yrs. old. I hit 41 in February and am dying to go again. I just can't afford it right now. I'm saving as much as I can. So I'm hoping for a little Pixie Dust to get me and my friend down there to see everything new. My friends never been so it will al be new for her. She's a really great friend and we've been through a lot together.

Here's hoping for some Pixie Dust for all of us.

We got walloped last year really badly. Now this is the only really heavy snow we've had where I am in MA. We've been lucky so far. My oldest sister almost got in an accident driving to work the other day because she was on ice on the street and she almost hit a big truck. She took the chance and turned to go around the truck so she wouldn't hit it and luckily there were no cars coming. My mom was really scared when she told her about the almost accident. I hope the snow stays away from MA and the other states for the rest of the winter. I can dream right. LOL

My husband was just in Worchestor Co. In Massachusetts. His company is laying gas lines. So if you are yelling about road construction, that is them, "Michels Corporation." Small world.

Hi! I know that worrying about the taxes on a win can be stressful but let me see if this helps. I won a trip 2 years ago. It was an amazing trip to New York and we stayed in the heart of times square. The trip was valued at around $4000 which was the fair market value...I checked myself but never had to ask for a change since most companies are honest and only send out the 1099 for the actual amount. I am in a mid to lower tax bracket. We don't qualify for EIC but always get some money back because of the kids and we ended up only losing $1000 of our tax refund when we did our taxes. Therefore, in our case that only meant 25 percent. Also, if you did take the trip in January of 2016 you wouldn't pay until you did your 2016 taxes. I won in October and took the trip in May and I was told you are not taxed in the year you win but in the year you take the trip. Another thing to think about is you can always have extra tax money taken out of each paycheck if you think you will actually owe money but if you usually get a refund the refund would just be smaller. I hope you have a fabulous trip and I can't wait to hear about all of the planning process!
