It's another "when to go" thread....

I realize there is no more "slower" or "down" time anymore. With that being said, if we need to go in the summer, am I correct in assuming that the first week of June would be a better time to go than later in June or in the middle of summer? (assuming we would have to avoid Memorial Day week). Does it get busier the more into summer you get? I don't have kids in school anymore but it used to be that many schools weren't out yet the first week of June.

We went twice in both July and August, and I thought it wasn’t bad at all. Our May, November and December trips were much more crowded!

we have gone a lot during the summer. It's hot- so you have to use the days correctly (we park hop and rest during the heat), but crowd wise the week around July 4th is bad. Other than that- it's pretty manageable by disney standards. The earlier in June we have found better- because of how schools stagger when they end. We head down this year from June 11-22 and from previous experience those first 5 days are less crowded then the second 5. Not huge- but it's a difference. August is the same way- later can be slower once some schools go back.

The schools in our area (NJ) don't get out until @ June 18th, so I would guess the 1st week of June would be lighter than mid or late June.

If you don't have a school issue, than maybe mid september? Haven't been there at that time, but it seems to be one of the lowest crowd predictions. We've done the end of august (leading into labour day weekend) and while it was busy, it didn't seem as busy as the one we did in a February.

Thanks for the replies! Even though I don't have kids in school any more, it's a family trip and my nephews are still in school. They get out Memorial Day weekend though so we were thinking that the first week in June (after Memorial week) would be a good time to go. Sounds like that's a good plan!
