I know, I know, it happens every year, but still, seeing your plants pushing their way through the soil, is so exciting!!! It's almost like seeing a good friend again, one who's been away much too long. 
My new daylilies, the bleeding hearts, the columbine, delphiniums, sedum, phlox, yarrow, geum and lithodora, they're all starting to stretch out! The hostas are sticking their noses out! My slow-poke coreopsis are visible. The lilacs are starting to bud, and even my monkshood, the last thing to bloom in the fall, are a good 3-4" tall! It may not sound like much, but they are on the move!
Now, if only we could string together an entire week of warm weather, they'd all really take off! It'll happen....sooner or later.
