It's a World of Laughter a World of Tears A World of Hope & a World of Fears New 2/18

Great DHS plans! You're right, there is nothing more Disney than running to TSM.

So is Phineas and Ferb really that good? I've never really seen it for more than 2 minutes. But a lot of people seem to really like it. Maybe I should give it a chance.

I also want to see the Disney Channel Rocks! show, but I don't think it'll compare to the HSM one.

Great day planned. You're absolutely right, nothing says Disney like running like a madperson towards the first ride of the day!

I vote for Orbiting Oreos, only because I love Godiva liqueur, so of course I'm gonna says yes to that. And I have had it before too. :thumbsup2

so glad to see your ptr - I think a mother/daughter trip is exactly what you need after reading your last trip report - so sorry things didn't work out like you had hoped. Love reading about your plans - I finally have a trip planned for this November with my sister' at her DVC at Old Key West - so I'm doing my research to see where we want to eat and what drinks I want to sample; the only question is whether my husband will be going or my daughter (someone has to stay home and watch my elderly mother-in-law); but I know I'm definitely going to the Ditch and I want to try a Grey Goose Slushie as well!

I'm here! popcorn::

Dawn I hope you are able to run the 5k, but what I really want to know is when you're going to graduate to the half? As you've probably guessed from FB, I'm aiming for Princess 2013. It would be awesome to see you two there!

So funny! I'm watching P&F while reading this post. We just love this show in our house too. I used to say it was b/c of my DS5, but then I catch myself watching it even if he's asleep. :lmao: The writers of this show are great!

We will be arriving on the 26th around noon. We're starting out at MK though. We are so excited! :yay: I think we're driving everyone around us crazy, talking about the trip! Even Noah starts out conversations, 'In 21 days, I'll be in Disney World!' Love it!!

Hope you and your mom have a wonderful trip!!! Look forward to the next installment of your PTR.

It is such a great show! There is a lot of hidden adult humor so I appreciate it! Plus who wouldn't want to make all of the awesome stuff they make?!

My dad is super jealous about us going :guilty: I have been playing Disney music almost every day and he keeps saying how it is making him miss Disney.

Thank you! I hope you have a great trip as well!

Oh - well then that makes a difference! :rotfl: I bet that milkshake would go great with onion rings. Tough call! Good luck with THAT decision. :rotfl:

I do love how you are researching all the drinks at HS. I will definitely be checking some of them out in June! :thumbsup2

I am sort of partial to the milkshake  I know I will be having a margarita at some point but that milkshake just sounds so good!

The Oreo one sounds good

Thank you for your vote!

 I just love the mad dash! It stirs up so much excitement!

Yes it is that good! It is just such a funny show and very clever!

I don't know I think they still sing a couple of the HSM songs and I really do like the Shake It Up music

Thank you! Acting like a mad person is sort of a requirment at Disney

Awesome! Thank you for your vote!

Thank you! It is what we need and these next 18 days can't go by fast enough!

Aw I hope you have a great November trip and tons of fun planning!

Welcome!

I am hoping to graduate to the full marathon next year! I would love a quickie trip over marathon weekend but it will all depend on airfare so cross your fingers for us! I don't think my mom would run in it but I would definitely love it!

Looks like a fun day planned! I've never seen Mulch... show before. I'll have to check it out in May! Getting a drink in Sci Fi would be fun! Especially since you'll just be having appetizers. Those drinks sound pretty filling so that might be a good time to try one. I'd say go all out and have the milkshake lol. :)

I'm finally here! Again, can't wait for another amazing Caitlin and Dawn trip report!!!! It's gonna be fun!

I think I will be going with the milkshake everyone is voting for it :thumbsup2

Welcome! Thank you for joining us!

That sounds like such a great day! I love Sci-Fi's atmosphere.
I'm not gonna lie though, I like Phineas and Ferb too! I don't get to watch it too often, but it's my Disney Channel show of choice for sure. I think it's hilarious! I wanted to meet them in December, but the line was too long!

I am so excited not too long now!

It is such a good show! I hope the line isn't too long!

Oh, the TSMM mad dash at rope drop. Such a necessary evil. But you're small, I'm sure you can bob and weave your way through the crowds quick like a bunny,

I vote for the oreo milkshake. I have just heard about how yummy the milkshakes are there. And I know the margaritas are yummy in Mexico. And the onion rings can help soak up the alcohol......

Sigh, I am still devastated by the way.

I have never tried any of these so I am voting for the one that tempts me the most!! Orbiting Oreo!! :goodvibes

Your musts sound like so much fun! I really dislike how you have to have a stampede to TSMM! We do it to but that ride is a must for us! And i agree...TOT at dusk is amazing!!

I do move through those crowds pretty quick  I am used to it when I was little we would go out shopping on Black Friday and I would always try to get through the crowds  Once I yelled to my parents "Throw me over!"

I am so excited for the shake! We will be taking a stop in Mexico the next day :thumbsup2

Me too  My mom asked if I wanted to watch the parade and sent me the link. I said "No I do not want to see that smug look on Eli's face"

I am pretty sure the Oreo shake won hands down!

We love TSM so we have to do it! I have been training my mom with arm work outs and I told her we will be a force to reckoned with when it comes to TSM  I love TOT at night it is a totally different ride!

After I read that you call it mini golf I googled "putt putt" to find out why the name seems to vary so much. I discovered that "putt putt" is the brand name of some mini-golf places dating back to the 1950's. Since we had one in our area all "mini golf" started being referred to as putt putt. Kind of like how everyone calls facial tissue "Kleenex". That is today's history lesson. We are an educational ptr

I love the history lesson! I have a friend who lives in Missouri and she uses a few terms that i have to wonder about so I love knowing the story.

I love those minnie earmuffs. I may have to poke around Target on tomorrow's lunch break!:goodvibes You two are going to look great!

I missed the epcot drink vote, but would have voted for the GGS or the Sangria. I've never had it at Epcot, but in general I never met a Sangria I didn't love:lmao: Hey, there's fruit in it, so that makes it a healthy choice, right?:rotfl2:

Hi All!

Do you know what today is???? Why it's February 1st!
And do you know what that means????

It means WE'RE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD THIS MONTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :yay::yay::cool1::dance3::cheer2:

:cool1::thumbsup2 That IS worth dancing over!!

This day we will be heading back to DHS!

disneysummerday5006.jpg

What a great photo!

1.) Meeting these lovely boys

phineas.png

We are going sans-kids and will definitely be looking for P&F. Love that show! Katie cracks me up by occasionally calling her umbrella a raininator:rotfl2:

Finally what you all have been waiting for the voting for drink of the day!

Sci Fi

The Comet - rum, vodka, gin and tequila topped off with sour mix and cranberry juice

Space Monkey - chocolate shake, Malibu rum, and banana liqueur

Orbiting Oreos - Oreo shake mixed with Godiva chocolate liqueur
Brown Derby

Citizens Take Flight- a tasting of three margaritas
Bucky Greenhorn's Derby Margarita
Melvin Macheezmo Mano Margarita
Ready Freddy Fiddlesticks Pomegranete Margarita

Ooh I have never had any of these...but I think I'd go for one of the milkshakes at SF

So Caitlin, as I read through your drink votes, here's what I am thinking:
i should make a list of all the choices that did not win, and I should try them for you. You know, just to fill you in for your next trip. :rotfl:There are some great options here, and as we will be traveling w/o Katie, I will be a little more free to indulge through the parks. (i.e. rockin' rollercoaster after a margarita =)

Our church sells gift cards as a fundraiser, so I have started purchasing Disney cards (you know, to help the church!) so that I will have plenty of drink ...Oh I mean souvenir .... money :lmao:

I do love sangria but I found a different drink so it will end up being a surprise :)

:cool1::thumbsup2 That IS worth dancing over!!

:woohoo:

Thank you! I love P&F! That is so funny about the umbrella!

That's what I will be going with!

Go ahead! I would love to see how all of the other drinks taste! Plus we are going in October so I will need to have a list ready for then :thumbsup2

Hi! The days are moving right along and our trip is now just 16 days away :cool1: Caitlin and I are getting more excited by the day and poor Dale is getting more bummed that he isn't going. Being the wonderful dad that he is, he suggested this Spring Break trip knowing he'd have to stay home because his store would be having inventory that week. He is really happy for us but he looks so sad when we talk about it that I feel so bad for him. We're planning to go back in October for a family trip and we're going to make that one all about him and book his favorite restaurants and celebrate his birthday :)

On to the plans for our next day.......

We'll have breakfast at the Pop food court and then grab a bus to make rope drop at

disneysummerday3652.jpg

I'm sure we'll do the crazed trek to get Caitlin a FP for Soarin. (I cannot handle the motion of that ride ) Speaking of FP did y'all hear as of March 7th you have to use FP in their window? You won't be allowed to use them past the designated time :headache: Since we love collecting FP and using them at our convenience I'm totally bummed about this! What are your thoughts?

After we get her FP we'll head over to Test Track. Since we are from the Motor City this is always a must do for us. (for some reason the motion of this ride doesn't bother me at all) I'm hoping by our Oct visit the TT refurb will be done and we can check it out!

We will then explore the rest of Future World making sure to catch Captain EO. Caitlin just loves that cheesy little movie

When World Showcase opens we'll head over there and do some snacking around the world for lunch. Our must dos besides Maelstrom and the Mexican cruise are the movies in Canada
disneysummerday3627.jpg

and China.
disneysummerday3349.jpg

Caitlin absolutely loves the theme song for the Canadian movie and was bummed we missed the movie last time. As for China, well we've never seen that movie. We always skip it :confused3

We will be having dinner at the Garden Grill. We have never eaten there so we are looking forward to giving it a try. Dinner with Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale has to be fun right?!

After dinner we'll visit anything we missed earlier.

Then at 8:30 we will be paying our first ever visit to LaHacienda. This will be where Caitlin has her drink of the day and we'll split an appetizer of some sort. I'm hoping we score a table with a great view if Illuminations :) We are going to LaHacienda instead of the Ditch because Caitlin promised her dad she'd wait and go there with him. I'm pretty sure she has drink picked out so I don't think you get to vote this time

Our day isn't going to end with Illuminations though. We are going to walk over to the Boardwalk and pay a visit to JellyRolls  Dale and I went there in 2009 on our Caitlin-less trip and I have been dying to take her there ever since! Now that she's 21 she can finally go! So we'll catch the show and then take a cab back to Pop.

Now if the next 16 days would just fly by....

Sounds like so much fun!!!

I am bummed about the Fast Pass situation, too! Seems like whenever we would get a FP, it would be the time that we had a ressie for dinner! Then what? I'm thinking that they will have to make some concessions!!

Hope so!:cool1:

I don't know how I feel about the FP thing. I saw that there was a 5 minute window before the time and a 15 minute window after where you can use it, but I feel like if you were at a meal or something during your time, they should make an exception for you. It'll probably end up being one of those things that depends on the CM. I'm sure it'll make for some interesting strategy changes around here!

Anyway, sounds like a fun day! I've been wanting to go to Garden Grill for a while! I hope yall like it. :)

Re: DHS day
Love the Sci Fi - foods okay but it's the atmosphere that's so much fun.

For your drink that day, it was a hard decision because I would love the Margarita flight at Brown Derby BUT my vote is...Space Monkey - chocolate shake, Malibu rum, and banana liqueur
Sounds so yummy!

I never road ToT at night so that is my plan for my next trip.

Re: Epcot day

I think you will really enjoy the China movie. We saw it for the first time on our last visit and the scenary was beautiful!
Can't wait to hear how you like La Hacienda - we have ressies there too.
Envying your ride on Test Track - my guys are SO bummed that it will be closed on our visit.
