When will the refurb be taking place?

It is closed from this month (not sure the exact date) all the way until November! It is a ten-month refurb! But it should open in time for the holidays so hopefully they will do the holiday version of Small World again.

Of course, most people here probably know that California Adventure is undergoing a BILLION dollar refurb over the next few years, at the end of which it will be more like Disneyland and probably have a different name.

Doh! I knew it was coming, but I was hoping that I could see it before it closed. Is it currently colorful? When I was there in 2006, everything was silver, white, and gold.

It's still white and gold on the outside. It always is, but during the holidays they put TONS of lights up and at night, IASW is far from white and gold.

The colors are spectacular at night, and they flash different images in timed intervals on top of the lights. I tell you, those lights and effects made the difference in the line of people. In the daytime, we walked right onto the ride. At ngiht, the lights and flashing images attracted people like moths to a flame and the line suddenly wound in a serpentine like fashion almost to Toontown. It was longer than I had ever seen it. And if you make it on the holiday version, notice the whiff of peppermint that you get when you sail through the candy cane factory. It is very faint, but it is deliberate!

That is really a long time for a ride to be closed, I sure do hope that it will be It's A Small World holiday when it opens because we will be going out there in Dec. and that is one of the things we want to see, that and HM are two of DL most popular Christmas attractions so I can't imagine that they wouldn't do it.

Everything that I have heard/read has indicated that it will definitely be IASWH when it returns in Nov. I couldn't imagine any reason why it wouldn't be.

Thanks I love the holiday version, but it is hard to get out there around the holidays for us, so this is great news.
