It's a small world holiday overlay question

We will be at Disneyland January 10-13. I was last there a year ago when It's a small world was down because it was getting it's holiday overlay put on. Based on your past experience, will it be open when we are there in January or will it be closed so they can take things down?

Is there anything else I should be aware of that will most likely be closed while we are there?

I feel like it was up for some time after the holidays officially ended last year. I can’t remember the last day though.

Usually they transition Haunted Mansion first, and then they start on Small World, so I’d expect HM to be down and IASW to be open while you’re there.

They can always change, though, and with Star Wars opening next year I wouldn’t be surprised if they have a lot of refurbs in January/February...

The holiday season will end 1/7/19, I believe. So, Haunted Mansion Holiday will turn back to regular HM from 1/7 to 1/21 (usually closed for 2 weeks). After HM is back to the regular haunts, they will start on "It's a small world" holiday, usually taking 2 weeks for it to change back.

So, yes, you should be good to see "it's a small world" holiday.

As for other closures, it's a hard guess. As a previous person mentioned, with the upcoming opening of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge opening this summer, it's quite possible that they could bring typically-later-done refurbs up some. In that case, we may see Splash Mtn and Grizzly close earlier in the year than typical (early-to-mid Feb is their typical time). They may close Big Thunder Trail if they need to work on the entrances to SW:GE. The Explorer Canoes may not be running. But, all this is just my guess, and there's a huge chance I could be wrong. I'll be going in Feb, as is my usual, so I'm trying to give myself low expectations so I'm pleased with anything that is working well and not under refurb!

Thanks everyone for your replies. My husband would be thrilled if IASM was down but my daughter and I want to go on it. Since we didn't get to last year, I'm happy to hope (no guarantees, I know) that it will be up and running.
