It's a Small World - Appreciation Society *50th Anniversary!*

I absolutely LOVE the IASW Appreciation Society logo. How do I get it in my signature? I NEED it - please - tell me - how do I do it?

Hi! Here's how...

Right click on the image and click "Copy Image Location." Go to your User CP and on the right..down a bit...click on edit your signature. Then look at the tool bar on top of the edit box and there's an icon of a picture with a mountain and sun. "Insert image" is what it says when you scroll over it. Click on that and the just paste the url in there. Hit save and it's there!

Went to Disneyland 44 years ago, my only trip to that park. IASW is the only attraction that I remember riding, and to this day, it it still my favorite Disney attraction.:thumbsup2

Wow you went to DL in one of its most historic years...the 'new' Tomorrowland. You don't remember Adventure Thru Inner Space?

My parents went that same year. I posted their 8mm of their trip on You Tube. My mom (the blonde) is shopping in front of IaSW.

I am so in! This is my favorite ride....just see my username.:thumbsup2

When I was 4 or 5 years old (way back in the 70's, LOL) my grandparents took me to MK. The only rides I remember are Haunted Mansion (I was scared) and IASW. I loved it and my grandpa rode it with me many times. A few years later, I went back to MK with my family and couldn't wait to see my favorite ride again.:banana:We get there and ...... it was closed for refurbishment! (Remember, no internet then) I sat at a table in Pinocchio's staring at the beginning of the ride and just cried and cried...:sad1:I didn't get to go on again until 5 more years later and I still don't like eating at Pinocchio's.

When I was a kid, my family lived in CT and visited the New York World's Fair many times. The high point of every trip was riding It's a Small World, and we rode it again and again. I still love it and ride it on every trip to the World. After riding it countless times, I just realized, on my trip this past December, that every time you pass through an archway on the ride, you are entering a different continent. I always enjoyed looking for all the countries, I just never made that connection. What can I say - I don't always connect the dots!

I absolutely love It's a Small World!!
I teased my teenager that we were going to do a Small World marathon. We didn't, but it was fun to see his facial expression.

I love the song. I love all the little animated characters. The colors. Everything.

We even got to sit and eat while looking out the window at the queue line. Awesome!!!

Everyone rides with me and says nothing bad because they know how much I love this ride.

I'm so in. Disneyland's is even better than WDW's if you can imagine. :cloud9: I told DH I want the song played at my funeral. No really.
That's awesome.

I had no idea so thanks for sharing :)

I love that ride :lovestruc I feel so hopeful whenever I ride it. I also think the song is perfect and the art is too. Wouldn't change a thing.

...:rolleyes1 it's a world of laughter, a world or tears, its a world of hopes, its a world of fear. There's so much that we share that its time we're aware
its a small world after all.... :rolleyes1

Definitely going to be humming that the rest of the night now :)

My most prized souvenir from our first trip to DL when I was 5 is my Small World music box...it still hangs on my wall. I love that ride, and the song is one of the greatest ever written. People get annoyed because it's catchy - that means it's doing its job! It's an ear-worm - it's supposed to stay with you.
ETA: Ok, I have too much stuff in my sig that I can't stand getting rid of, but if your window is big enough you should see my Proud Member stamp by Wall-E and Eva!

I'm thinking we might have the same music box...my grandma bought one for me in the mid 80s because we both loved the ride so much. It is one of my most prized souvenirs as well. Is yours white with Small World dolls all around the outside, blue satiny lining and a mirror on the inside?

Crud, no, yours sounds awesome! Lol, mine is a cheap little thing, about 2 1/2" square, light blue, with a stylized cartoon of the dolls on a sticker on the front. It's a yellow pull chord that winds the music box. I'll have to take a picture and post it!

Ha, darn I thought I was on to something there. Oh well, I'd love to see a picture of yours! I'll take pics of mine as well. It's really nothing too fancy (the latch in the front was even glued on crooked). I'd say it's similar to the princess music boxes you find at the parks nowadays, only maybe built with sturdier materials.

IASW is my favorite ride! You can get your whole family on one vehicle, it's nice & slow, lots to see, indoor so weather isn't an issue, the line was never long to ride when we've been there. It's a long ride, so you get your money's worth!

Ok, here are pictures of my music box, as promised. It's been a long time since I've actually "handled" it, and it's actually much nicer quality than I remembered it being (hooray for the 80s!)...except for the crooked latch. :rolleyes1

I am still having trouble. I get as far at the step where is says to enter the url, but I have no idea what the url is or where to get if from. :confused3 Any help you could offer would be much appreciated. :flower3:

The url comes from when you copy the image location. If you did that, you should be able to paste it into the box that asks for the url.

Yes, I'm a fan too. I love this ride. I especially liked how after the most recent refurb, the dolls were all sparkling and bright. :)
