I will definitely be posting pics/opinions on Pop! If you have any specific questions I don't end up answering, please ask.

We're staying at the Pop in Nov- and taking a flight out at 6am from BWI- your live report rocks! I wasn't crazy to book the early flight to get the most out of our day... Have a great trip and thanks for letting us all tag along! Happy Anniversary!

Thanks! We flew out of BWI for our honeymoon because it was a lot cheaper for where we went, but for Disney, PHL is usually cheaper for us.

Came over here from the Pop thread too! Loving the report so far!

Our first Pop trip is October 8. We usually stay at the Poly but all this crazy LOVE for the Pop has us sooooo excited. Looking forward to reading more about your trip!! Thanks for sharing. :) :)

:welcome:

We stayed at the Poly last time and would have loved to do it again, but it was either a shorter trip at a deluxe or a longer trip at Pop. We decided we wanted more time!

Happy 1st Anniversarypixiedust:. Thanks for doing this live report. It's so much fun to read of your experience so far. I'll be following along.

I will be following also! My daughter and I will be at the POP for the first time (9/22 - 9/28).

Happy anniversary!

OMG! I just saw the link to your other trip report - Only Heaven is Better than Disney World! I followed that live trip report when you stayed at the Poly two years ago!!! Now that little fact might not seem THAT remarkable...but I have been on the DIS for ten years...and in all that time I have only followed ONE live trip report (and I just checked my subscription list to verify that)... And that one report was YOURS!

How funny! I hope you are more impressed than my DH. He just doesn't understand the chances of that happening. :) :)

Excited to read all about your POP experience!
We'll be staying there for the first time in October.

Shortly after we pulled out the Magical Express video started. Even though I have seen the video a couple of times now, the memories segment at the beginning was new to me.

The next thing we knew, there it was...

The first resort guests to be dropped off were for Animal Kingdom Lodge. On the way there, we passed right by AK. You can see Expedition Everest off in the background in this pic:

I had never been to AKL before, so it was nice to get a little peek.

The next stop was the new Art of Animation resort.

Finally, we arrived at our resort: Pop Century!

We had done online check-in, so we got in that line and were called pretty quickly.

They had assigned us a king bed in the 50s section, which was ready, but it was a handicapped room. Since I sometimes have issues with my feet and need to soak them in the tub, we asked if there were a standard king available. There wasn't one ready yet, but there would be one available in a couple of hours in the 90s section. We almost took that, but we really wanted to get in the room right away. In the end, we went over to the regular check-in desk and just asked if they could just switch us to a double room with a tub, since we knew there would be one of those available. They happily obliged, and assigned us a room in building one--the 50s. (So if you ever have an issue with the room assigned, it never hurts to ask!) It kind of stinks not having a king bed on our anniversary trip, but it will be fine. We are closer to the main building than we would have been in the 90s, and we got into our room right away.

After we got all settled in, we checked out the grounds a bit and headed over to Art of Animation for lunch. More on that in the next post!
