Day 7. Part 2.
After our photopass session, we went off to Fantasyland to get our picture with Cinderella's Pumpkin Coach. We had seen them setting it up while waiting in line for Peter Pan before dinner. It wasn't a long wait, maybe 10 minutes. At this point they had just started checking wristbands for the
MNSSHP.
The coach is just beautiful. Stunning really. The photopass CM was delightful as well, lots of fun while taking our pictures.
After our picture, we headed back through Fantasyland. There were NO WAIT for Dumbo! No wait! Can you imagine? I have never been on Dumbo so I was all about Dumbo. Marc was less than enthusiastic but we asked for our own Dumbo's and away we went! I fit well and I could fit with a small child with no problem. I had fun. It was the inner LL child! Marc had camera duty during the ride because I had wanted my pic while flying high!
Because no TR would be complete without Dumbo's Butt.
Look how empty Fantasyland is! This was just after 7PM too!
Afterwards I had to get a picture of my "wild animal". Hehehe.
We saw Pooh & Eeyore greeting but the line was enormous so we skipped it. I loved loved Eeyore's costume, he was just adorable.
We saw a dance party going on which is just a super cute idea but Marc didn't feel like dancing. We headed over to Toontown. I was on a mission to find Merlin. I had heard that he would sometimes be out for MNSSHP. All night we asked and all night we were told that they didn't know if he was out. Grrr. We searched every character spot too. I was very sad about this. I really wanted a picture of him and me for my dad!
We walked through Alice's Treat Trail but it was mobbed so we skipped the treat lines and just walked along looking at the characters from a distance.
In Tomorrowland we rode The Transit Authority. So relaxing. It was the end of our trip and we were exhausted even though we hadn't done much all day.
As we were getting off The Transit Authority, I spotted a character that I wanted to meet. I practically jumped off, made my way down to the area near Carousel of Progress to meet.....
STITCH!
I love Stitch. He's the cutest! It was a very small line and I was probably 3 people back. I had that nervous feel when you really really want something to happen but are afraid your hopes will be dashed at any moment. Well as I am in line the Character Handler annoucnes "At any moment, Stitch will be going "somewhere I can't remember what they said" and Pluto will be coming out.
Luckily at this point I am at the front of the line. When I hear from behind me coming from the treat stop on the Carousel of Progress platform..."Look "Blankity Blank" there's Stitch, go up and see him."
Say What!?!?!
I love kids, I want kids, I have worked with kids in many different settings but that little girl was not going to cut me in line when I was next and had patiently waited my turn. I hear Marc pfffft in my ear and I start to walk up to Stitch and say, "There's a line back there." And smile my charming LL smile.
The look the Mom gave me was priceless. Like how dare I make her daughter wait her turn. I am sorry. I pay just as much money to be at Disney as everyone else and I wanted to meet Stitch and I was not going to let a 8 or 9 year old girl cut her way in line just because she's a kid. Is that mean? This wasn't the first time people had let their kids cut in front of me or elbowed their way in to get their kids "just some mashed potatoes" at Crystal Palace and normally I wouldn't say anything but enough was enough. Wait your own turn!!
This is also the point where we musing the Trip Report Title "Just because I don't have kids doesn't mean I don't want my picture taken with characters." Luckily my bitterness had faded a bit once I got home to start the TR.
Stitch was great, you can see that he was tickling my ear. As I was walking away, I saw that the Mom and daughter had weaseled their way into being next to greet Stitch even though there had been a line behind me.
After Stitch, we walked onto Buzz Lightyear. This was one ride were it was a bit tight. We sat together and we had trouble getting the bar to latch. I think it would have been better if we rode separately.
After riding Toy Story Mania, we were both so disappointed in Buzz. I don't even remember our scores. I know Marc won.
Here is our photo of a photo. You can really sense my enthusiasm.
We walked back through Fantasyland hoping that maybe we might catch Merlin but no such luck. We went back to Liberty Square and had our picture with the Carriage. There was quite a line there but it was worth it. There was a lady ghost in front of the HM that was awesome. She was playing a southern belle ghost type character and she was hilarious. She came down for a break and she was taking pictures with people she was gone by the time we got out of the line. I have seen her in pictures with others here on the DIS and I wish I had gotten one with her. She was great. When she was taking pictures with people she kept saying, "It's really hard to make myself solid." "Don't squeeze to hard Darling, I am a ghost."
For this picture the CM says, "Pretend your MIL is moving in with you." What is he, a freaking mind reader. Talk about a scary thought! I snort laughed before striking a pose.
We headed back towards Adventureland where we ran into the parade. We stopped for a bit and watched. I didn't take out my camera because I knew we were going to watch the later on. I am glad we had run across it because I was able to see TK's Captain Jack and the Villain float.
In Adventureland we saw Genie & Abu. They had a great character handler, she was really on her game, getting the camera from the next people in line so she could hand it to the photopass and she was just really very friendly.
We went and walked on Pirates and we were even able to have our own boat. It was awesome to be able to chat with Marc during the ride and not feel like you were disturbing the other people in the boat.
We went pass the character greeting area with Tarzan and characters but we decided to pass because we wanted to get a decent spot for Hallowishes.
I found a bench on the way into the Castle hub. It gave us a good view of the castle even if it was off to the side a bit. Marc went to go get some drinks while I claimed our spot.
During the whole party there were a lot of Disney Cast Members in business clothes as well as a lot of technical people running around making sure everything was going smoothly. I attribute this to being the first MNSSHP of the year. While I was waiting for Marc I saw them making a Ghost Mickey Balloon blow up and light up. Then I was bummed because they didn't turn him out for the fireworks but it wasn't too distracting.
