Day 8. Part 1. *Our Last Day*
I can't believe I have reached our last day. I have had so much fun writing this Trip Report that I don't want it to end yet I have to share our last day because it had such a magical moment.
I awoke with a heavy heart in the morning. I didn't update my notes to include our last day because real life intruded so I am going off of memory. I believe we slept in until around 10AM or so. We had arranged the day before for a late checkout until 1PM I think. We slowly packed up and said goodbye to our Wilderness Lodge haven. It was such a great room. I'm a little sad that I won't see the WL on our trip in May but know it will be there in December.
I said goodbye to our little Tweet Tweet Birdie friend. I was tempted to take Birdie with us but I resisted.
I love Birdie so much that Marc indulged me with a photo session.
As you can see even though I had decided to cancel 1900 Park Fare that I wore my Mary Poppins shirt that I had saved to wear on our departure day.
Here is a close up of the Poppins shirt, I found this on the DISigns board.
We had an ADR for Tony's before 1PM but I don't remember when exactly. We had to catch Magical Express by 3:30PM I believe. Wow, thank goodness I took notes for the rest of the days or this would have been a really crummy Trip Report. We left our room, checked our luggage with luggage services and headed to the boat for our last look at Magic Kingdom.
When we got to the MK we decided to take a last loop on the Train before checking in at Tony's.
I got a decent shot of Goofy from the Frontierland train stop. This is new greeting area I have read between Splash and Big Thunder.
At the Frontierland stop a woman with the "Best Mullet Ever" according to Marc got on. He made me take a picture and I feel badly about this and I am refusing to post the picture now. Marc is angry at me but I don't care. He says that if there was a Mullet Hall of Fame that this woman would be in it.
After our Train Ride we decided to check in at Tony's.
As Marc was checking in I wandered over to the area where they do the BBB photo shoots of the little girls. There was the cutest little girl dressed up as Jasmine. As I am watching who do I spot?
.........
I have to say just thinking about this and typing it up make tears come to my eyes. It was that magical.
.........
It was.....Mary Poppins!!
I was simply dumbstruck. Marc had just finished checking in, I yelled his name and pointed frantically. He ran over and took the camera from me.
She was walking outside for a character greeting and I stopped her and said, "Could I please get my picture with you since I am wearing my Mary Poppins shirt?"
Well would you know it, it was the same Mary Poppins that I had in Epcot! She stopped and read my shirt and told me that it was indeed Practically Perfect.

The character handler even read my shirt and said it wasn't everyday that you see someone wearing a Mary Poppins shirt!!
I was content with taking the picture in that aisle between the photo set ups in the back of Exposition Hall but not Mary Poppins! She pulled me over to wear they had the Carousel Horse Background. Seriously guys, I am fighting back the tears as I write this. It was like a dream come true! Mary determines this is the perfect spot and gives Marc the go ahead to take some pictures.
Here is the shot from Epcot Day. It's the same one!
I was so thrilled and Mary Poppins was great. She had the perfect accent and when I told her she was my favorite she was just so nice and didn't rush me at all. It was the
PERFECT ending to our Disney Trip.
When I ordered my photopass cd from Disney, I even uploaded some of these Mary Poppins pictures and had them printed out with a special Disney glitter border. I have one hanging up at home and one at work. It was my magical moment.
When Mary Poppins left to go outside, I was on cloud nine. I was in a daze and Marc ushered me over to the waiting area at Tony's and had me sit down. I remember just sitting there with the biggest, goofiest grin on my face. Marc said, "That made your trip didn't it?" And I said, "It was magic."
Sigh.
I can't wait to go back. I am going to lengthen this last day out a bit so I'm keeping it to a shorter update.
Coming Up....
Lunch at Tony's
Some very important Wilderness Lodge residents!
