Day 2. Part 4.

After doing our shopping we decided to head over to Adventureland. We took the shortcut between Liberty Square and Adventureland. I love Disney shortcuts!

We headed towards Pirates of the Caribbean but we took a detour. Captain Hook and Smee were out doing greetings so we hopped in the short-ish line.

The line moved fairly quickly. We were two guests out from our turn when the Character Handler said that they would be going inside but would be back out in three minutes. Shift change perhaps?

We get to the front of the line and head up to greet Hook and Smee. Hook stomps away. I was completely confused and had no idea what was going on. Smee wouldn't come near me either and he just kept shaking his head. The photopass guy even looked confused.

No Hook.

Hook is growing impatient so he stomps his foot to get my attention. He points to my tshirt and it finally dawns on me. I am wearing a Tinkerbell tshirt! I was impressed that Hook picked up on this so quickly. I explain to DH what is going on because the poor guy was just as clueless as I was. Hook grabs a Magic Kingdom map from the Character Handler and spreads it out and hands it to me to cover up Tinkerbell as he shakes his head some more. Truly awesome character interaction. This is what Disney Magic is all about.

I think the photopass guy was confused as to why I kept the map up there but I did it for the memories. Plus I didn't want an angry Hook after me.

I was on cloud nine after my Hook interaction and we head to POTC to only be slammed back to reality. They were in the process of closing the entrance doors, CM's were saying something about Pirates abandoning ship. Sad. DH asked if POTC had fastpasses for later but alas they did not. Why? I don't understand, I think Disney needs to rectify this.

We headed over to the Tiki Room. I know a lot of people slam the Tiki room but I really enjoy it. It's a Disney classic. It also helps that I always picture Tiki Room like Walt did, as a restauraunt with Tiki birds. How cool would that be?

We had to wait about 10 minutes for the next show to start but we were the second group let into the queue area.

We both enjoyed the Tiki Room though DH did say that if he had to wait a long time he wouldn't have been happy. Oh well. I always like it. I took some Tiki video but haven't gotten the chance to upload them yet onto Flickr but when I do I will post them.

We decided to check out POTC to see if it had opened and it had!

We basically walked through the queue and were able to get onto a boat. I still get freaked out on the drop. Every single time I go on it. I know it's coming, I know it's small but it still freaks me out. DH laughed at me since I buried my head into his shoulder each time. We both really enjoyed the updates with Captain Jack. We had a row to ourselves and the seats were roomy and plenty of leg room too.

We played around in the gift shop.

I wish I could have justified buying one of these because it looked like so much fun!

I was debating which one of these I wanted for MNSSHP but decided to wait until it was closer.

FYI, I felt like I was having a good hair day on this particular morning!

After POTC we took the train from Frontierland to Main Street. We had the Walter Elias Disney train, which was exciting for me.

We got off at Main Street and walked around a bit in the Main Square. We were getting hungry and tired. DH went into City Hall to see if we could get a lunch ADR anywhere, he could only get Tony's for 2PM and it wasn't even 1PM at this point.
While I was waiting for him, I took one picture of the Family Fun Parade.

It was really cute and I would have taken more pictures if I wasn't so cranky at this point. LL and low blood sugar don't mix. We decided to just head back to Pop.

We were back at Pop by 1:30PM and we headed straight to the food court. We both had the double cheeseburger, fries and chocolate cake. We also both got fruit bowls with snack credits since they had been so yummy the night before.

Once again the burgers were delish. We didn't end up eating the chocolate cake but brought it back to our room to save for later.

I need to decorate better next time.

When we got back to our room, all of our bathroom stuffed had been organized and we had a towel holder thing but no towel animals. I was a bit sad. I made pretty tip envelopes and everything. We had been in a rush in the morning so our bathroom stuff was all on the counter, the mousekeeper organized it all on the ledge for us which I thought was neat and a little creepy all at once.

We both took a nap. Again, I slept restless. I wasn't able to rest up. We woke up at 4:30. I really debated about my footwear this evening. My Mary Jane Crocs had been really comfy in the park but I felt like I should keep up with my switching shoe theory so I wore my sneakers.

We were at the bus by 6PM. There was a huge line for MK and we were at the very end of it. The Epcot bus came around the corner and I told DH that we should just go there and hop the monorail. He agreed. So that's what we did. It was the roundabout way but we didn't have anything going on until our Liberty Tree Tavern ADR at 9:20PM.

Oh, you may have noticed that we decided to skip our Wilderness Lodge Photo Session. I was just too tired to get motivated to go. Part of me wishes we had gone and part of me doesn't. At the time I didn't have a single regret, we were having fun!

It was nice to take the monorail, our first ride of the trip!

We were back at LL's Happy Place again!

You are really giving me a photo ego. I am glad you are enjoying my pictures. I think sometimes I like the "untraditional" things at Disney, as I am not huge into roller coasters and thrill rides. I like the more sedate things.

It was not open when I was there.
I have decided that when DH and I do buy a house, we are going to have a seriously large light fixture budget!

The Captain Hook adventure was soooo cool!!! My favorite memory of characters, was when my poopy-head son, who refused to have fun...blew off the characters at LTT. next thing Chip pulled up a chair, stole DDs autograph book and challanged DS to a game of tic-tac-toe!!! It was hilarious...even DS had to grin!!

I SO loved the older version, that after seeing the new version in 2006, we have yet to go back and revisit it---it SO disappointed me that they had changed it THAT much!!!! I really do wish they would just change it back to the very sugary sweet singing Tiki birds--the new plot very much scared my DD back then, and it made me so sad---- Oh well---at least I have more reason to want to go to Disneyland now!!!

LL--GREAT pictures!!! I love your story about Smee and Hook---how funny!!!! Great hat pictures of both of you!!! As always, you leave me wanting more!!! Can't wait!
