It's a Jolly Holiday with LL. *FINISHED* Final Update on pg. 58.

Have you tried a headband? I was one a headband kick for a while....now it's always in a loose bun.
Headbands bother me because they rub up against my glasses and press them into my head, which hurts. I think I am going to experiment and see what I come up with.

I haven't set aside or planned for any souvenir money over the $142 "free" money that we have. If we have extra when we go, we do. If not, we will survive. Or pout. Either one.

Hair Issues
Onto another issue. Hair. Yes, hair. I am stressed out about my hair. I want to look good, call me vain if you must, but I know I will be hot and sweaty in pictures and figure if I an be ahead of the game and have cute hair they won't be so bad. Remember, I am the gal who wore a hairpiece for her Wedding. Anyhoo, I saw on a TR that a younger girl (teen) got a little braid hair do at the GF hair salon. It was braids going from her forehead to about halfway down her head. The bottom half of her hair was loose. Very cute. It cost $55, I think they said. She had about 10 or 12 braids. They were attached to her scalp if that makes sense, not hanging in her face. It was very cute. On her. I would love to do something like that because I wouldn't have to worry about my bangs, I have bang angst. Wow. Doesn't sound right at all.
I just don't want to look like a fool, trying to look younger than I am or it not be flattering on my rounder face. :::Sigh::: I think if it looked good, I wouldn't mind having it for the photo session. The young girl kept it in all week and even when she got home. I hate my hair in a pony tail because it's so thin and not quite long enough, I get stupid wispy's and look like a pin head as my Mom says. Thoughts? Suggestions? Opinions?

Ahh the hair issue. I also have fine hair, but it's curly so if I let it dry for long enough, it looks fuller. If I put it up while it's wet, I have to be a bit careful or my scalp might show in spots. Grr.

I'm with Heidi; I think I'd recommend against cornrow braids. People who can pull it off are far and few between, I think. As for what you can actually do-- :confused3 I just stuck with a pony tail the entire trip because I knew my hair would frizz up in the humidity (helps with hiding scalp LOL) and it'd look awful if I tried to do anything else with it. I don't have any ideas, sorry. :sad2:

That is like the most detailed to-do list I have ever seen! :worship:

My hair was in a ponytail all 8 days -- looking back at pictures I wish I had worn it down some, but that Florida heat just made it a necessity to get it off my neck.

LL,

First - Love the List

Second - About the Hair

Is it possible that you could get some clips and wear half of it back, or all of it up in a pretty clip? I've done that with my hair when it's longer, and I know you don't necessarily have to worry about how fine or thick it is, because the clip is good at grabbing the hair and holding it in. Just one more option.:goodvibes

I pretty much do a ponytail every day. And I think on this trip for our out a lot days, I'll be wearing a baseball hat. I always get sunburned on the top of my head where my hair parts and it hurts! I'm hoping to avoid that this year.:goodvibes

I buy Ocean Potion Dab-on Spot Stick SPF 50....I dab it on my part....it's not a creme lotion, it's alcohol based. It works like a charm. I also dab it on my ears and it's good for a quick touch up on the nose.

Good point....I doubt you wear a baseball hat huh?
I hate the way they look on me but I will bring it just in case.

Wow that is some to-do list!
I love my listy ways.

I think I am going to go against. I did have a brainstorm last night to make my pony tail look fuller and more glorious. They have those cool little pony tail wraps of fake hair. I don't think the clips I have will work because they are very heavy. Sally Beauty Supply here I come.

It needs to be detailed or I forget. I know my weaknesses

I hear ya.

I also think I am going to experiment with clips and the half up do. I did that last time and it worked. I divided the top half of my hair into two elastics and it gave me the fuller look.

Good to know! I am worried about that and don't want to spray greasy sunblock on my hair.

Where can I find that, hon? And it doesn't make your hair look greasy at all?

Assemble Tip & Mousekeeping Envelopes - They are printed out, just need to finish putting them together and put the money in them.

Can't wait to see your envelopes. I printed mine out (killing my ink cartridge) but I haven't put them together yet. Been a bit lazy.

Pre-purchase photo CD - I am hoping to do this before the end of the month.

Thank you for reminding me that I need to call my brother about this. I know he'll probably want to go in on one, I just don't want us to order 2 ahead of time.

Schedule WL photo session (30 days out) - Still haven't pin pointed the exact day but here are the top two options. I also want to get some of the best lighting and don't really know when that is so plan to ask when I call.

I really wanted to do this for a family portrait this trip at the Poly, but getting my brother and sil to commit was impossible.

The money is really a very very very rough estimate but it makes me feel better having one.

Don't worry, I have a complete money plan as well. My mom thinks I need to chill a bit with the planning.

DH and I have decided that we want to get Christmas Ornaments and Magnets from all of our trips together. I want a Mr. Potato Head so badly that I can taste it. I am just a big kid. I have a collection of pins that I plan to bring down with me. I am not sure if I will trade but it will be part of my park wear. I want to check out Basin and Art of Disney.

I don't blame you. I've been toying with the idea of a potato head myself. My last trip I brought home one of the Star Wars ones. Supposedly there is an Indiana Jones one, so I may be tempted by one of them.

I'd have to agree with everyone about the braids. Seriously I think only Bo Derek can get away with the whole head of braids as an adult.

I have a ton of thick hair and these are a few things that have worked for me.

Headbenz Headband - The only headband that doesn't give me a headache. It's very flexible and doesn't dig in anywhere, yet stays in place. I actually picked mine up at a local craft fair. Really not like any other headband I've ever used.

Fake Hair scrunchy - I know you said you used a hair piece for your wedding. I love using the scrunchy pieces for a very quick hair do. I just put my hair in a regular ponytail and then wrap the scrunchy around it. Voila instant do! I love that it keeps it off my neck, yet still looks cute. I have two - a wispy one that makes my hair look spikey, and a curly one.

Now this I haven't tried yet, but someone here on the disboards was posting about these - Knotheads. I'm a bit intrigued, but haven't tried them. I may just have to order one and give it a try. (I'm also a compulsive hair accessory junkie).

:wave2: Finally got finished catching up with your PTR.

I am in absolute awe of your lists. I am myself a listy person but you... you are truly amazing :worship:

I'm agreeing with everyone else on the braid thing but for an altogether DIFFERENT reason. I had this done on my trip with my friend Rebekah when we were at Universal.

Convenient? YES. EXTREMELY.
Comfortable? NO. Particularly after Day 2.

I would've been about 23-ish when I had it done and (even still now, at 29) don't think it made me look like I was trying to be younger than I was/am. You have a very young face anyway, so I don't think you'd look funny at all.

BUT.

They are T-I-G-H-T. I remember having a wee bit of a headache the day I had them done. It also made hair-washing a little awkward (I rubbed shampoo over the braids and soaped up the remainder of my hair as normal). But worst was my scalp got dry from the exposure to the sun even with lotion, making the braids itchy and scratching them was a tad painful. Nothing dandruffy, though. Also, once you take them out you tend to lose some hair from them being wound so tight for so long. It was enough that it was noticeable by any means, but, just an FYI.

They have Mary Poppins parts for the potato head, I am so getting one!

Wow. That headband is awesome, I can't get the knotheads website here at work, can't wait to look at it when I get home! Thanks for the ideas.

Awww. Shucks. I feel so special. The DIS is the only place your OCD issues can be worshipped! :lmao:

I don't lie. I think I've tried just about every hair gadget/appliance ever made. It's an illness. Back in the 80's I even had a crimper. (Such a bad idea!)

My problem is I have so much hair that unless I let it grow super long I can't put it up. It's too thick to twist into many up do types of things. I often end up with a french braid and a hair scruchie at the base of my neck. Painless and cool. Then I can add the headbenz when I start getting sick of my bangs.

:scared1: I so don't need to lose any of the little hair I have. Thanks for the heads up...or should it be hairs up. :rotfl2:

Wal-mart or Target...probably any drug store too. It's a tube about 3 inches long yellow, with a blue cap. No grease at all. Sometimes I have DH dab it on for me so I don't miss a spot.

CURSE MY FAT FEET!!!

Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhh!

No. I am not a sheep.

My beautiful Yosemite Pink Earth Shoe Sandals don't fit because of my FAT FEET! Ugh. I am developing a complex.

earth254543_106750_lg.jpg

Goodbye my precious.

:::sigh:::

The straps are way too short to accomadate my foot, which makes me laugh since I am a size 11, you think they would make the straps a little bigger. They are uber comfy except for the straps.

My question to all of you is....do you think the sandal below would be better strap wise?? Should I exchange? I don't want to try size 12 in the ones I have because length wise they are perfect.
