It's a Jolly Holiday with LL. *FINISHED* Final Update on pg. 58.

You have all read about the "Great Resort Duping of 2008 by LL", in order to stay at Wilderness Lodge our last three night at WDW. Duping is defined as pouting, sad puppy dog face and the highly effective, "It's all I want for my Birthday." Which I have used for numerous times with great results.
1. Booking this Trip.
2. Having dinner at Cinderella's Castle
3. Pre-purchasing the photo CD.
4. Staying an extra night for MNSSHP.
Yep...LL is good at duping the DF. ::yes:: Anyhoo, all of that is why we have two Resort Lists!

Wilderness Lodge :hyper:

Turn Down Service --- Thanks to TK, I know about this little gem and I can't wait to request it. Ahhh...pampering.

Artist Point --- Ironically, we have this ADR scheduled on our second night in the World, which is also a Pop Century night. This was scheduled before the great resort duping of 2008. I am keeping it on the second night for now, stay tuned for even more ADR changes in the near future.

Relax, Relax, Relax --- Yep. Relax. You read that right. I am glad that we booked WL for the last three nights, those days are our least "planned" and I am really hoping we have the time to enjoy WL and relax.

Buffalo --- I want a picture with those buffalo topiaries. They make me smile.

Enjoy the Deluxe-iness --- I want to bask in the glory of the Wilderness Lodge. I want to explore and enjoy. I don't think booking a deluxe will be an every trip thing unless my duping skills develop even more but the practical side of LL probably can't justify it every year either.

Boat Ride --- I want to ride the boat to MK. Woo Hoo! Boats.

Electrical Water Pageant --- Right now, catching this little gem is causing me a lot of stress. This is something that I have been dreaming about for three years ever since I bought my first Unofficial Guide. I don't want to miss it. I am going to have to tweak the schedule and I am feeling as though I may have the brain power to tackle it today. :faint:

Pressed Pennies --- Our goal is to get the pennies from WL as well.

Wake Up Calls --- It's the simple things that make staying on property so worth it. I can't wait for Wake Up Calls, I forgot to put it on my Pop list but of course there will be Wake Up Call there as well.

I can't even express how excited I am that we get to stay at WL for some of our trip. This is going to be a banner year for the LL household in more ways than one. :lovestruc

OH! Have you read the WL FAQ thread? I forgot to tell you, if you haven't. You know the totem pole in the Lodge with Humphrey the bear on the bottom? It's a legend that you need to rub Humphrey's nose to let the magic begin on your vacation...I thought you might like that. I plan to get a nice photo op of me doing it! Any extra magic helps! :goodvibes

Added to the list! I had read that somewhere but forgot Thanks TK!

Happy to help. And I'm glad you're going to attempt to slow down and relax during this portion of your trip. Totally remember to enjoy your resort. I was crunching numbers for next year in case of bounceback and I know there's no way we'll be able to feasibly do a deluxe. I just can't justify that expenditure two years in a row. Perhaps a mod, and if money is tight, a value. We do love Pop. Anyhoo, my whole point is, enjoy it. :thumbsup2

Thanks! :goodvibes I plan on going to tweak our schedule/plans after I get done on the DIS. I think some things are going to get cut. I also want to work on a photo list. Photos that I want to take and Photos I want to try get on photopass. You have used photopass before, any good tips on getting some good photos or locations?? I am obsessed with photos. I always view photos as the most important souvenir.

I totally agree. Since I love to scrapbook, I really enjoy re-living my memories through our photographs.

Honestly, the photopass photographers are everywhere, and really easy to find. You just have to keep your eyes open.

If you haven't seen it before, this is an excellent site to go to

Stitch Kingdom Photopass

It has comprehensive listings of many of the photopass details, I think it'll really help you out.

Some of my easiest recommendations are the most obvious ones. In front of the castle: if you want, hit up a bunch of different pps as you make your way down Main Street. You never know who will take a better shot, and you'll get the castle from different perspectives. Sometimes there's a pp on the bridge from the hub to Tomorrowland, and you can get a wonderful shot of you in front of the castle there. We have one of my mom from our last trip where the fireworks from the stage show are going off behind her. In front of Spaceship Earth in Epcot. In front of the hat in MGM. And, in front of the tree of life. But I have to say, walk around the tree and close to it, there are pps everywhere, and it's nice to have some closer up shots where you can see the carvings as well.

Other than that, just grab them when you see them. Some are more helpful than others, but mostly, they all take great shots. They're all over the character meet n greets now too, which is great for those interactions you can't catch. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the link, I had seen that before. I have already warned DF that we will be stopping for every photo op as possible or until I get tired of posing, which I don't think will happen. But like I always tell him, I reserve the right to change my mind. ::yes::

Your plans for the Wilderness Lodge sound fantastic! Reading your wish list really made me wish I had stuck with AKL! Oh well, too late now -- I will just have to go back and stay there another time! ;)

You can't change now! I am relying on you solely to give me a thorough description of the POFQ which is my desired haunt for next year! ;)

No worries -- I can't change at this point -- that $650 for a change would take all my souvie money and that is so not going to happen!

Well, there is always that if you pre-purchase and decide you don't want the CD, you can get a full refund. :thumbsup2

Oh, I didn't realize that.

Have you done the CD before? I am wondering -- if you do the CD can you just take it to someplace like Target to get the prints done, or do you still have to purchase the prints through Disney?

Really love your Wilderness Lodge list! Chuck and I are hoping to stay there in December. (I have to wait until we get back from Pop Century. He'll be weak and ready to make reservations! :teeth: )
