It's a Jolly Holiday with LL. *FINISHED* Final Update on pg. 58.

Just checking in:flower3: . When I got married (the second time) I wore my grans heirloom cameo broach and yes it did make me feel she was there with us. Your earing are pretty and that's not the only reason you're wearing them, it's the right choice.

My DH was the same as your DF, I wanted an Intimate Disney wedding and he wanted the family wedding. I gave in and don't regret it. We had a wonderful day, a fantastic Disneymoon and I keep dropping hints about a Disney vow renewal one day as reward for my martyrdom  :lmao:

Honey, I love those earrings. I don't have pierced ears by choice, but I so admire them on other people. I think those will be just beautiful on you, and so special to you as well.

I will definitely try to PM you this weekend so we can compare notes. :lmao:

I went back to work today and am now completely wiped out. I'm sort of hungry but nothing is appetizing. Icky stomach virus. Blech.

I hope I won't regret when it's over, it is going to be beautiful. I have made all the wedding decisions as far as theme, decorating and all that jazz so I am happy with those things. 58 Days!

They are actually clip ons! My grandma didn't have pierced ears. They are heavy too, woah. When ever I visit my mom I have been wearing them just to get use to them.

Yay! I would love to compare notes.

Yikes!

To give you a little teaser on the MIL...yours wants to wear black...mine wanted to wear ivory.

Which was the same color as my dress.

Which she knew, because she picked the vests. Because I told her what color my dress was so the groomsmen would match.

In DH's family, they were a different dress to church than the reception.

So during the sign of peace, in the house of the Lord, my new MIL leans over to me and says...and I quote..."my dress is the same color as yours."

I had no idea what she was talking about. Until later, when she showed me. At which point I practically burst into tears and asked her to change, because I was the bride, yadda, yadda. She held up my wedding reception for two-three hours to go buy a new dress.

Yes, you heard that right.

And that's not even half of it.

That's not right. My MIL has picked beige, which is okay because my dress is white. You truly feel my pain. We need a club name.

IMIL...

Italian Mother In Laws Anonymous?:lmao:

And I mean no slur to Italians, y'all, because I am one. Much like I am free to make the drunken Irishman jokes as well! ;)

Perhaps we're forgetting manipulative?

Let me tell you, thank God DH stepped in and told MIL how it was going to be. Also, what really helped us is his two sisters getting married and starting to have their own families. And MIL cannot stand one of the husbands, so the focus has shifted. In that case, there's a very good reason, but that's not for here. So when the family gets bigger, it helps to take all the attention off of us is nice.

I worry for you, in the sense that it is so important to set boundaries now. Because let me tell you, if you think you have problems now, wait until you throw grandchildren into the mix.

Let the games begin! :lmao:

I know I know! My mom has suggested that I tell her I am pregnant in my 8th month. :rotfl:
I have to admit the last few weeks hasn't been bad but I haven't really had to be around her or do any planning. This weekend will be a big test with the Bridal Shower. :scared: DF has spoken to her on a few occasions in regards to the way she treats me. DF's brother who I just adore, is appalled at the way his mother has treated me. His GF gets treated the same way so we get along wonderrrrrfully. I think if there is a "situation" after the wedding then I will confront her myself but for right now I am just trying to keep the peace. The holidays will be the next biggie. :dance3:

I think you need a visual! :cool2:

Beautiful! I love vintage jewelry, and I think these are just gorgeous!

I got my tickets! Woo Hoo! :woohoo: :thumbsup2 :yay: :cheer2:

I am going on September 5th, the first night. I did call earlier this morning and they weren't able to process the tickets, that was about 8:45AM and I just called around 11:15 and they were able too.

What a magical day! :goodvibes

Hooray for MNSSHP tickets!!! Have you ever been? That night last October when we went is one of my fondest memories EVER of the Magic Kingdom! :goodvibes

Good! And you have a confederate, always good. Someone to commiserate with. Take solace in the fact that it's not just you, it's anyone who dates her children. Same in my situation.

I can't decide if we should dress up or just wear "Halloween" tshirts.

I think you should totally dress up. It is so much fun, lends to the fantasy, and at that point I think you're going to love feeling like a big kid!:goodvibes

I am all for dressing up. I just don't know what and also what I can convince DF to dress up as. He is a zombie kinda guy and I told him it has to be something Disney related.

After getting our MNSSHP tickets yesterday I have been thinking about costume ideas.
Background Time! DF looooooves Zombies. His love of Zombies frightens me. He has a book entitled, "The Zombie Survival Guide". Seriously. About a month into dating, DF wants to watch a scary movie and of course because I am still trying to impress him I agree. We watch "House of 1,000 Corpses". I was scared out of my freaking mind, it made me doubt this nice guy, was he really nice? Yes, but I was still scared. I have flashbacks to this day and it was over two years ago. I seriously doubted DF's sanity because he enjoyed this movie so much.
Needless to say he was excited about costumes before I told him NO ZOMBIES. It's Disney. I also said it had to be Disney related because that's the kinda girl I am. We have never dressed up before so of course I would like our costumes to match or go together because again, that's the kinda girl I am. That's how I rooooll.
I would love to dress up as Mary Poppins & Bert but I know that isn't going to happen. I would have to make a whole lotta promises I don't intend to keep and eye lash batting to get that one and I just don't think I am up to the task. Right now I am thinking of at least getting Disney Character hats/ears to dress up with. Or maybe Pirates because that seems relatively easy to do and who doesn't love Pirates? Silly question to ask on this thread. Also, Pirates would be manly enough for DF.
Only time will tell what we will choose! :dance3:
