Yep! I got a pin offer in my email today when I got home. I couldn't believe it, I thought they were a myth, a fable, a tall tale everyone talks about to make themselves feel better for all the money we give the mouse. It's like the Disney people knew I was having a bad day and wanted to give me some pixie dust!
It's a 30% Off pin, but obviously I can't use it with the packages we have. I tried talking DF into a weekend getaway but he looked at me like I was nuts. ::::Sigh:::: It just seems like an awful waste! Then I thought about booking WL with the 30% off and forego free dining but thinking about that makes my head hurt plus I am pretty sure I would have to pay for it up front so I can't even think about coughing up that cash until after the wedding. Ahhh well. It made me smile.

Will I anger the pin gods if I don't use it? Will it mean I will never get another one forEVER?

OH! It was DS first move in a theater, it came out what 6 months to a year ago? DH and I took him, it was animated, and I actually liked it. It was so not my thing, but I had a great time, and Patrick Stewart did one of the voices. Mama was happy, Papa & DS were happy! Anyway, he sat through the whole thing, so now we have a bit of ninja turtles thing in my house.

I'll pick the most expensive menu items just as a guess, and not including apps or alcohol since those aren't part of the dining plan. So here we're looking at dinners and desserts. And I'm not figuring in tax, or a tip, so take that into consideration.

50s Prime Time - ready to ditch, est cost = $56.96
Kona Cafe Dinner - must do, est cost = $69.96
Le Cellier - waffling, est cost = $85.96
Park Fare - must do, est cost = $59.98
Total = $272.86

If you plan to do all of these and had to pay out of pocket, free dining is a better choice, since you're already over the difference of the room discount without even couting any of your counter service meals or snack items.

Now, if you ditched 50s Prime Time, you'd bring the total down to $215.90. Still comes out better with free dining.

Ditch 50s Prime Time and Le Cellier and the total would be $129.94
Now this is your biggest savings, however it only gives you $72.56 to play around with. Let's assume that you'll each want at least one counter service per day...and let's just guesstimate that will cost you at least $20 by the time you get two meals and drinks, etc. So that's $60 for the three days for counter service...keeping in mind this a low estimate. That only leaves you $12.56 for any kind of snacks.

So, my long convulted answer for you is, if you want the ADRs you have, keep the free dining. Even if you're thinking of cancelling one...ahem...keep Le Cellier...ahem...you'd still come out ahead with free dining, IMHO.

We are going to keep Le Cellier, stay with the free dining and toast TK with a Lapu Lapu at Kona Cafe! I think for the peace of mind and being able to eat without worrying about the cost, save for appetizers, etc. will be worth it. I just hate not using a pin!

I told them I'd go off by myself and do my own thing if they wanted to do that. They said fine....I think however, that if I told them I was having a DIS meet they would really think I was crazy!
