It's a great big beautiful tomorrow

I love the COP and usually watch it a couple times on a trip! When I was in the WDWCP I worked at the MK, and I would occasionally go by myself to watch it before my shift started.

I often sing the original song in my head. "Now is the time, Now is the best time" :rolleyes1

Add us to the list of COP lovers. My DS is 9 and he is known to burst into singing "There's a great big beautiful tomorrow..." at any given time. When we were there last Dec. my son was upset because COP was not open. On our next to last day, we were in MK and noticed it rotating. Of course we headed straight over. When we got into the ride, some very rude people were behind us making fun of the song :furious: . After the ride was over, my DS informed me that he just wanted to tell them to get off the ride and shut up!! :rolleyes1 Guess he is kinda opinionated, like his mom. DH sees COP as a rest time. Whatever......

The Carousel of Progress is my all time favorite ride. when I took my SIL on it, she said " i want the last fifteen minutes of my life back"!
Any COP lovers out there?

We love it! In fact, every night before we went to sleep at Boardwalk last week, we sang that song together in while we were all in bed (OK, DH didn't sing, but the kids and I sang it together! :sunny: ). It is sort of our these song while we are at Disney!

I love it, too....I've never even minded the countless times we've been stranded in there while it was momentarily broken down.... :thumbsup2

I was actually bummed when we went last month. I miss the "NOW IS THE BEST TIME OF YOUR LIFE" song! I remember that over and over years later after I was a kid and I was really disappointed that they changed the song :confused3

My 16 yo DS's best friend has gone to WDW twice with us. He is a thrill ride junkie :scared1: , but his favorite ride at WDW is C of P. He LOVES, LOVES, LOVES  this attraction, which I think is kind of sweet. After our last trip together, he called me to tell me that he found a website that had the ride music on it. He was sooo excited. DS and I went on C of P in March and as we entered we said "This ride's for Matt :grouphug: !" It is a great "feel good" attraction.

I like it too! I think it is neat to think that Walt had this at the Worlds Fair when?? It was so advanced for its time I think!

That was my favorite also. Not quite sure why they changed it.

It wouldn't be Disney without it. We love it!!!
"Now is the time, now is the best time, now is the best time of your life"
(anyone remember that song to COP?)(sorry, didn't yet read previous post)

We love it too! I like both songs. :thumbsup2

I love it, DH calls it the "take a nap ride"

They need to update the "current/future" section

We like COP, but prefer the "Best Time of Your Life" song over the original.:earsboy:

I liked it, I liked it --- I really did and that song plays in my mind over and over ... but we HAD walked alot, and I WAS somewhat tired ... and it was warm (cold outside!) ... and well, I have to say it ... I slept through the '40's!!!! -- :teeth:

I love it too!! Last time we went it was closed in Aug. 2003. Any word if it will be closed again.

I love this ride too!!! It never gets old. I love being reminded of all the progress we have made in the last hundred years. I am a little bummed that I never got to hear the other song! Oh well...it is still a great ride! :earsboy:

Like several others, I first rode COP at the '64-'65 New York World's Fair, so the time I spent on it last December was incredibly nostalgic. It was the first time in 40 years that I had ridden it, so I totally missed the song change. This was the song that I remembered (and I did remember it, as it is quite memorable).

Interestingly enough, my DD6 loved it. She insisted on riding it a second time. Of course, she got the audience to sing Happy Birthday to her, but that's my princess: .

I have LOVED COP since I first saw it as a child at the 1964 / 65 New York World's Fair. I get goosebumps just reading the lyrics to Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow and humming the tune in my head  . My family thinks I'm nuts.

I hav said it before and will say it AGAIN... Walt Disney used Carousel of Progress, along with Great Moments With Mr. Lincoln and It's A Small World at the World's Fair to gauge the public's reaction to a Disneyland type of entertainment in the East. Soon after the resounding success of COP and Small World in NY, land was being bought up in central Florida! So you see, COP was the spark that caused Walt to move forward with his Disney World plans. I think Walt really believed there was a great big, beautiful tomorrow shining at the end of every day.

Our family loves it too!!! Just reading the song lyrics makes me all teary . For me it personifies the unquenchable optimism of Disney. :sunny: We need more of that in the world!
