It's a good thing Pete is so shy and retiring

This made me laugh.

Glad you got a chuckle ;) :goodvibes:laughing: I should have said further that the only way I am going to let any review absolutely positively change my mind or deter me would be if it was 100% all the same from everyone. But I'm sure you already knew that's what I meant ;)

And movie reviews? LOL I don't even look at them. I go to the movies for fun and enjoyment, not to analyze the "you know what" out of them :thumbsup2

I totally agree that reviews can be taken with a grain of salt, even from the same person. For instance, we had HORRIBLE service/food at Chefs De France, which the team seems to really like. Different strokes!

Each and every person listening to the show is welcome to agree or disagree with us.

There is no right or wrong. It's all opinion.
If you've listened to the show long enough, you've even heard Kevin and Pete disagree on restaurant reviews. To each their own. If you take it to it's base, it's entertainment. If you choose to use it for advice, just remember it is a snapshot. Why does this always get blown out of proportion?

I'll go into more details on the show, but that FB post was made out of frustration. They did address the issue we were having (and no, it didn't have to do with the omelette!).

Starting with the POFQ review, we're going to include the following disclaimer with all future reviews:

"These reviews are a snapshot of our individual experience on a particular visit. A decision on whether to stay, eat or experience anything should not be made from one review or comment. This information is better used as a 'heads up' in combination with other reports that can be found on DISBoards.com and other Disney and travel communities on the web. Doing research and reading commentary from multiple sources is the best approach in deciding where your vacation dollars are spent "

When I look to book a hotel that I have no experience with, I look around - read a lot of reviews, see what the hotel has to offer and make my decision based on the totality of the information available to me. If I see that several people have reported the same issue or concern, that would influence me. No one should be influenced by one report or experience.

With that said, I'm certainly not going to hold back when my experience was negative, anymore than I would if it were positive.

Pete

Well said Pete....There have been a small number of things that you've reviewed that have been slightly (more or less) negitive....in which I have not agreed with your review....but this is where different folks have different experiences.

No one should go by just 1 person's opinion or experience....a number of people have posted on the boards that the Values are horrible....I don't think so...and that's my opinion...and this is ok...to each their own I say !!!!

All the times we have stayed at POFQ it's been nice. The only problem is the BEDS!!!!!!! Just got back from CBR this weekend and they must have the same mattresses there. It's going to take a massage to work the kinks out of my back. Other than the beds everything was great.

I stayed there over Memorial Weekend 2010 and thought it was so-so.

Part of that problem may have been I was exhausted from trying to sleep in a double bed with DD and hearing DH snore all night with no way to get away from it. .

Buy some ear plugs next time you go with the hubby, they work really well. You can barely tell you even have them in.

Is the show where Pete stayed at POFQ up yet? I don't see it on I Tunes in any of the titles.
thanks!

It's in the middle of a refurb now... 1/2 the buildings are done. Wonder if they put him in an old room too...

That's the worrying thing, they said they were in building 7, and all of those rooms were completely gutted and refurbished a couple of months ago. Just goes to show that it doesn't take very long for a bit of slipshod housekeeping or maintenance to let down someone else's hard work - and that can apply anywhere of course.
