6th October 2008

Up early and did the last bits of packing before setting off for the airport. Dropping off the rental car was a little different than we're used to here (all on an off-site compound then you're bussed to the actual airport) and we weren't too sad to say goodbye to the Sebring and it's boat-like handling! Once we arrived at the airport we queued to check in and were told that one of our cases was overweight (OK so it was mine..!) I hastily stuffed some unbreakable stuff into a backpack I had spare (thankfully as I would have hated to put my lovely new Hello Kitty holdall into the hold!) and we set off in search of food. I had a Starbucks breakfast and Steve had a Wolfgang Puck's pizza which I ended up wishing i'd chosen instead. We waited around for a while and Steve bought some headphones (he'd been looking for some all holiday but finally found the ones he wanted now!) Boarding time soon arrived and the flight ended up leaving about 15 minutes late. Between some reading, sleeping (more Steve than me) and a snack of pizza, salad and M&Ms which Steve could have (cool as we were told beforehand that there was no veggie option on this flight) we soon arrived in Newark and were off the plane at 8:30pm only to find our flight to Manchester was delayed by an hour, typical! We got some unmemorable food with our last dollars and Steve bought himself some Clinique Happy for men while we waited round for our flight to board. Another uneventful flight of a very short 5 hours and 50 minutes later (Speed Racer on the communal screens again, this could send a person mad!) we arrived back in Manchester and met up with my dad who had very kindly offered to take us home. And this brings me to the end of our trip! We were both so sad it was over as we ended up falling in love with California and can't wait to return. Thank you to those who have read and/or commented, not sure when i'll be doing another trip report on the DIS (since this year's holiday doesn't include Disney I wasn't planning on posting it on here) but hopefully we'll be back to either WDW or DL in 2010 so watch this space!

I have loved every day of your reports. Felt like I have visited myself, so thanks so much for sharing such a memorable trip.

Hooray! Hooray! You finished your terrific report in fine fashion. And hooray about falling for California. I love California north to south and openly admit to being especially partial to Southern California and think that people determined to pan the area have just been visiting the wrong places. I'm sure you and Steve will make it back again soon. Thanks for the hard work that I know it takes to produce such a thorough and entertaining report.

Great trip report, really got me excited about our California trip in August :)
