Let me introduce myself and my family


For those who know me no explanation needed , for those who don't stick around any of my threads and you will see this very sweet and serious lil' ol' lady sedately going thru life

Here I am again quiet, sedate ,not to mention innocent !!!

Next up are my 3 grandkids



The girls , now 17, on our last Disney vacation in 2011 when they turned 16!!In the middle is Kyle my grandson!!

How did this trip come about ... well last September I went to Universal with a group of Developmentally disabled as a volunteer escort !! Judy was jealous and within a month had found cheap airflights with jetblue to Orlando and was arranging for a family trip to Universal !!

Being the planner of the family I started checking Hotels and ticket pricing etc etc . Through these boards and many friends who go to the Darkside all the time and had been a tremendous help for the September trip, I finally ordered tickets thru Undercover tourist, I highly recommend them , reasonably priced quick service and NO hassle at the gates to get in.Wish our September tickets had been as easy

After much searching we decided to book our 3 nights at Hawthorne Suites in Orlando. It gave us amble room for a family of 5 , offered a free breakfast and had a pool !! Location seemed right too, so that was booked . We knew we would need a rental and Judy was taking care of that until I spotted that Undercover Tourist had a deal for Alamo rental. Judy said it was a good deal and so the final piece was booked .

As you all know it would not be a ROSIE TR without some DRAMA so stay tuned for the excitement !!!

Day 1 April 10th

We were all up by 5 a.m With 5 people needing the bathroom it takes a while Suitcases were all taken out to the car , house secured and we were on our way by 6 a.m !! Now this was a first as Judy usually fights me tooth and nail to not leave early and this was ALL her idea . Please all remember this First stop was Budget in Buffalo for Valet parking , if you haven't tried it do so it is awesome , we simply pulled up checked in and were on our way to the airport within minutes !! Suitcases unloaded and kids charged in and came out and gave us THE NEWS

FLIGHT DELAYED

Judy only said "Dang it we should have checked on line before we left" I am thinking "Thank the Lord I didn't suggest we leave at 6 a .m."

We check our bags with no issues other than the news that the flight is delayed 2 HOURS So what do you do



Sit and wait !!!Don't we all look happy Now this is before we went thru security I think we finally made our way over about 7:45 a.m. Security this time was a breeze and we found Gate 8 and settled in for a LONG wait !!

So here is where the title comes in !!By 8:30a Judy is asking me if that is a bar across from us and is it open !! She continued to check it out and around 9:30 a .m headed over there to find YES indeed she could get a BEER . As I looked at her and said "It's 9:30 am Judy " A country and Western song popped in my head " It's 5 o'clock somewhere "

Finally a welcome sight:



We were on our way around 11:15a , JetBlue gave us Free Movies and lots of apologies !! The reason given was dalays on the RedEye into NYC from the West Coast due to weather !!

By the way Judy had no Ear problems on the flight , so maybe it needs to be "5 o'clock somewhere each time she flies

Oh had I suggested the 6 a departure from home I would have heard about it for HOURS!!!!! It was the first time Judy thought about a beer before take off !! The girls told me she had 4 , I was trying to remember my Drug and alcohol training to calculate her ability to drive when we arrived , but before I said anything she told me she had 2 and they were expensive. So I knew she would be okay to drive
She says the beer had nothing to do with it !! But I think it did !!!

Beer or Benadyrl....hmm....wish I liked beer - could be a lot more fun than the Benadryl and sudafed I have to take every flight (or get horrible ear pain). Sorry to hear Judy suffers too - who is looking fabulous, by the way!! for the beer working!!

Yes Judy has always suffered with her ears on flights , BUT Steph has the same problem and she didn't cpmplain either , now as far as I know she didn't have a BEER!!! Judy does look fabulous and that was a BIG reason I didn't post a pix of her until I uploaded the pix from this trip!!
