The flight was smooth and no issues with getting the rental we upgraded to have more room and Judy and the kids LOVED it.We were soon on our way, of course we got a little lost but eventuallt arrived at...





Our room was ready so we quickly checked in and checked it out

We then all suited up and headed to the pool

We wre happy with our choice of hotels , a lesson I have learnt when reading reviews , you have to read between the lines . If someone has been coming back to the hotel year after year then the negative comments are most likely from NEGATIVE people who would only be happy with 5 Star hotels at a 1 Star price
I requsted extra bedding and it was there and waiting when we returned from supper , housekeeping did a great job , the beds were so neatly made using the girls blanket and pillow from home . No complaints with cleanliness at all. The Breakfast buffet was good, some sort of eggs every morning and we had a different meat each day , sausage , bacon and ham !s it the best buffet I aver had NO but it was fine and I never noticed a shortage of anything .

After our swim we headed out to find a place for supper , Judy spotted Perkins and as our local one had closed she chose that !! Pix of food are scarce as my family is NOT cooperative but here are what I managed to get

After an enjoyable supper we explored a bit and looked for tha Aldis we had passed coming in , but could not find it so ended up at Walgreens to pick up a few snacks for the room

We headed back to the hotel for more pool time and the Manager had a free happy hour which the kids got pop and Judy again had a Beer and this time it was after 5 o'clock

We were all pretty tired and made it a reasonably early night !! Day one complete

We went past the Hawthorne Suites a few times while going shopping and now that I got an "inside look" I have to say that they really look nice.

Did you have Eggs Benedict for dinner? I had to when I saw the photo.

Looks like a great place to stay. I am actually looking for somewhere offsite for my first day or two in December and may look into this hotel. I have learned that getting a room for $50 usually means you are getting what you are paying for.

I am not sure how far from Disney but is very close to Universal and even closer to Wet n 'Wild . Lots of restaurants etc nearby !!The Pirates Dionner Show is within east walking distance !!

Yes I had eggs for supper I often do I really enjoy breakfast for supper There are 2 Hawthorne Suites , This 1 is on Canada Ave, Road or what ever . The furniture is dated and a little worn but clean and comfortable . There were 2 Queen beds in the separate bedroom and then a pull out sifa bed that was quite comfy for me . For the 5 of us it was spacious . I think we paid about $110 a night !! Could have gotten cheaper without being a suite but the extra room was definitely worth it !!!

If you have 4 or 5 people this is great as there is soo much room , 6 people easily . I would certainly stay there again !!! I learnt from a guest who returns every year that the UNITs ( suites )are individually owned , she had talked to someone who owned a few apparently 20 + years ago they sold for $180,000.00 and now go for $50,000.00!! Signs of the economy being bad !! The owners are supposed to upgrade remodel . He said it was hard when you paid so much years ago and now it is worth so much less . But I think the owners are slowly upgrading. The lobby was remodeled and the restrooms off the lobby, I am pretty sure the breakfast/ bar was recently redone to. The pool area was nice but I don't think it was recently remodeled . I really enjoyed the outside patio and pool area !! Oh they also had a section for Basketball and provided the balls !!!
