It's 1 p.m. at the Magic Kingdom

I don't think a lot can be determined from picking out one ride's wait time at one point in the afternoon. Is it unusual (to me) to see iasw have a longer wait than BTMRR? Yeah, it's a bit odd, but I wouldn't extrapolate that to the rest of the parks.

We are on spring break right now from West Virginia and are here at Disney. Yesterday at the MK it was an expected crazy busy I don't know how it wasn't at capacity parking lots were full and they were parking vehicles in the grass everywhere I wish my phone wasn't dead cause I would of taken pictures. We have been to the parks all week before opening it pays to get up early especially for MK we are staying offsite,it has been crowded but manageable so far.

Why do so many on here think spring break is only whenever it is where they live?

This week is spring break for millions of children in New England, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia (plus parts of several other states and many private schools.)

Many schools in Wisconsin are out this week too.

When we lived in Fairfax, VA every school in Northern VA was on Spring Break the week leading up to Easter.

True!!

It is our Spring Break week, too. Most of NC has it this week. There are far more schools with Spring Break this week than any other week.

Our local public and private schools in Michigan have Spring Break starting today through next week.

Some people think of spring break as a college thing exclusively,, and those usually occur in march. But, k-12 schools have a break that usually happens the week before or the week after Easter.

Its not the crowds that's unexpected, it's that Small World has a longer wait then Big Thunder Mountain.

Again. I have seen that happen before. In October.

It is a simple fluctuation of the wait times. An hour later, the wait times most likely were different. You can't really take a single period of time and make any conclusions out of it.

We were also at MK yesterday. Make sure you actually check the ride line (if you are there, of course) because we were walking by small world and wait time said 50 minutes but there wasn't even a line - we think it meant to say 5 minutes. We've been here in WDW all week and have walked on every FP ride and several non FP rides. Headed to Epcot right now and expecting same.

K-12 Spring breaks have been really spread out this year with the later Easter. In the Chicago area, the public schools are done - they were mostly late March/early April. The colleges seemed to be mostly in March. Its possible the private K-12 schools are this week, but around here, most people are thinking Spring breaks are over. Certainly other parts of the county have it now, but there have been reports of crazy crowds other recent weeks due to "Spring Break" (I think the week the Atlanta schools had off had a million posts about how insane the crowds were.)

A few years ago we saw the Small World wait time say 110 minutes when it wasn't even 10 -- someone playing tricks maybe?

At MK a couple weeks ago, we found that posted wait times were about five minutes longer than the actual time we waited, probably because we caught the lines as they were getting shorter. And the red cards are not very reliable. My child was given one at Pooh when we were hanging around the play area waiting for the rest of our family -- we handed it right off to the next family actually heading straight to the ride, but how many people wouldn't think to do that?

Spring Breaks vary dramatically throughout the country. Here in my part of North Texas, they've been over for a whole month. My kids are preschoolers and we're leaving tomorrow.

TJA...how would you rank the 4 parks in terms of crowd-levels?

TJA...how would you rank the 4 parks in terms of crowd-levels?

MK has been crowded mid afternoons but nothing like past Easter crowds. I'd give it a steady 6 or 7 but I do have to stress that MK was the most efficient park as far as getting us on FP rides. Peter Pan was 7 minutes from end of line (there was no line) to getting off the ride. Epcot and HS were pretty much dead to us, maybe 4's. We went to Epcot 3x and HS just once. Did not go to AK. Monorails have not been busy either.....if it wasn't blacked out for discounts, I'd say this was the best week to be in Disney -- low crowds and great weather.

wow we leave in a few hrs for the week. We were planning for the worse. Sounds like it might not be that bad? We have done every holiday except Easter. Even at Xmas we got done what we wanted to. So u don't think it's been too bad?

Yes poly CL. I need to comment in the poly thread and I also have some pics to post. Poly is dead too! I'm sure largely due to construction but this is the first trip ever where we've had our choice of pool chairs.

Crowds have not been bad at all. As long as you have your FPs booked, you should be fine. Your weather looks even better than ours -- have fun!
