iTouch Slide w/ Genius Button - Do you have one?

Hi -

It's time (way way overdue) to upgrade my phone. I have Tmobile and was looking at their itouch with genius button. I think that functionality would come in handy, like when I am driving and can't text but I can hit one button and then speak my message.

Does anyone have this phone? Does it really work like they show it on the commercials?

I have one - got it in July. I sadly have not used the genius button - but I think it really does work as advertised. There is a tutorial avail on the phone when you push the genius button.

I don't know where you live, but here in CA we can't talk or text on phones while driving - The slide is definitely a distraction for me while driving especially when email comes in. I have to resist looking at it right away.

All in all - great phone. I upgraded from a Motorola Razr. DH has Blackberry - likes the slide better.

We aren't supposed to text while driving either, but I don't think hitting one button (genius button) would be much different than hitting a button on the radio. I could then speak the message (usually something stupid like "don't forget to put the garbage out").

I am replacing a Samsung E105 (not even a camera!) so I generally keep my phones a long time and I just want the most functionality as possible.

While the new Samsung looks cool (movies, tv, etc.) I don't really have a need for those.

Thanks for your input. My DH has a blackberry too, and after going with me researching new phones, he's ready to ditch the BB.

ive had mine for over a month and while its really kool i think its worked about 80% ofthe time. i dotn use it but have played around with it just cuz its "cool". you have to speak clearly and if the person has an odd name, or something not too commoin, forget it!..lol otherwise is a great phone, you can always use the tap to speak feature once in the txt message area, i find that works 98% accurate!
