We are leaving in nine day  for a week at VWL and I want to make sure I am prepared. This will be our second DVC trip but our first in a one bedroom. I know that the one bedrooms are stocked with basically everything but food but are there things that you have taken that you were glad you did take or are there items that you didn't take and wish you would have? We don't plan on doing any sort of cooking other than opening up a cereal box so any sort of cooking utensil is definately not needed. Of course if you ask my DH cooking utensils aren't really used at home either. :rolleyes1 I don't really plan on doing laundry unless we have some major messes which is always possible with young kids.

I just want to make sure that once we get to VWL we can park our car and not have to deal with leaving our magical vacation world to go to a store for something that we can't get at the Hess (i.e. milk, soda, chips).

TIA!

Doing laundry is so easy when you have the washer and dryer in your villa. You can throw it in when you leave for the park, and then put it into the dryer when you get back from the parks. Coming home with a suitcase full of clean clothing is so nice. And you also don't have to bring as much with you. So bring along some dryer sheets or fabric softener and a little detergent (you'll only get one single use box of Tide).

I like those snap hooks that you see on TV. (you know "Seen on TV" tags on the box). I hang them in the shower for bathing suits to drip from. They work a lot better than the clothesline.

I'm a coffee drinker :coffee: , so I bring good coffee & filters and possibly a bottle of Bailey's for special coffee in the evenings :rolleyes1

WL has a store in the main Lodge with the basic groc items in it. There are some microwave family dinners, icecreams, breakfast items. We never move our car once we arrive. I do wash towels, I would bring some Laundry products or you may be buying some. I put them in while we are getting ready then in the dryer as we walk out the door. :thumbsup2

I know my friends get tired of my saying this, but bring a canvas shoe holder... Seriously, you hang it over a door and put everything from deoderant, to electric razor, to first aid stuff, to hair spray, to anything small that will fit into one of those pockets... It really helps keep those hard to clear surfaces... clear.

I was wondering about how much laundry detergent we'd get. I will definately pack some since I'd like to not do laundry once we get back home and I know the kids will be messy. Good tip on the hooks, hadn't thought about that.

I'm not a huge coffee fan but I might pack some of those coffee pod things for an evening cup. Love the Bailey's idea!

I had kinda planned on washing them in the evening once we got back but your idea makes more sense. Doh!

That is a wondeful idea! Guess I know what I'll be picking up this weekend... a shoe holder! :thumbsup2

Thanks everyone! We aren't WDW rookies but we are DVC rookies. :goodvibes Just want to make sure that we are prepared for our first stay in a one bedroom and hoping that the one bedroom doesn't spoil us from studios and cause addonitis. ;)

Has anyone mentioned food storage plastic bags, or glad containers. I find them helpful.

Hasn't been mentioned but I do always travel with various sized ziplocs and find them very useful for a wide variety of things.

Thanks.:)
