I am reading about what is not allowed to be brought on a cruise and was surprised about not being allowed to bring noodles or floats. I understand about the pools on board. On Castaway Cay I had seen people say they rent tubes . I saw a while back people that brought netted spring loaded small loungers in their suit case to float around on adult beach. Is that something enforced only on board and not at the beach? Just wondering why? Thanks.

The items not allowed onboard are also not allowed at Castaway Cay.

Do people bring them anyway to use at Castaway Cay? Yes. Should they? IMO, no.

Not allowing them at Castaway Cay has a lot to do with the fact that things that get "left behind" just have to be trashed, if they've not floated out to sea (causing pollution).

I have seen beach balls as FE gifts thought that might be a cute idea. I also saw inflatable mini rings for smaller children with disney characters on them that were cute. Did not want to get anyone in trouble. That is why I was surprised.

I am sad they don't allow noodles on the ship. When I'm at the beach or the pool, I love floating in the water on my noodle. I like the thicker noodles; with the thin ones, I need two to stay afloat. My wife thinks I'm nuts, and tells me she's embarrassed to see a grown man in the water with his noodle, but I don't care. You like what you like.

Have you seen the pools? They're tiny. Now imagine if even a quarter of the people brought a noodle or other "floaty".

And where would you float? Pretty sure there's only room for perhaps 6 people to float at the same time...

I thought coast-guard approved flotation devices such as Puddle Jumpers were allowed -- is that just wishful thinking?

Coast Guard approved devices are allowed. And life vests are provided on deck if you don't wish to pack your own.

No, as long as a flotation device (used for swimming, not just a "fun item") is coast-guard approved, it's allowed. At both the pools onboard and on Castaway Cay.

Thanks for the confirmation! its worth it to us to pack the Puddle Jumper because we know our son will wear it.
