Itchin' For Some Fun...12/10/09 - 12/14/09...Finished 3/17

Mmm...Cinnamon buns look absolutely yummy...I'm going to have to look up that recipe and try them...:cool1:

Our snow is just about finished.. We clocked in at 22"... I really wanted snow but I didn't expect quite that much...;)

Great Photos of your room...sorry about the bed mix up...We have a Queen and I know if we moved to a King...there'd never be any going back...:lmao::lmao:

So when I left off, we had settled into our room. Our plan was to take a bus to Magic Kingdom and then the monorail to Contemporary. We were going to eat at the Contempo Café and then go over to the Wilderness Lodge to see the Christmas decorations. However, I was really exhausted and asked Tom if he minded if we changed the plans. Tom was fine with that, so we decided to just explore the Pop and eat there in the food court.

As we left our room, we were trying to figure out the quickest way to get back to Classic Hall. A man passed us with four refillable mugs and asked us if we needed help. We enjoyed a nice chat with him as we walked to the main building. Everyone we came in contact with (guests and CMs) were so friendly!

I had seen menus and pictures on-line, so I pretty much knew what I wanted to eat. Tom didn’t have any idea and was blown away by the selection. I got the Chicken Penne Alfredo; it came with a soft breadstick. For my dessert I got the Tie-Dyed Cheesecake and for my drink I got a Java Monster to save for the next morning. We were both amazed that we could get the Monster drinks, since they were $3.99 each!

Tom got the Shrimp Lo Mein. For his dessert he got the Carrot Cake and for his drink he got a Vitamin Water to save. The total for this meal would have been ~$34.00, but we used 2 CS credits.

We both were very impressed with the portion sizes and quality of the food. Everything was delicious! Tom had to help me finish, though, because I was still too excited to eat.

After we ate, we decided to explore a little more. Unfortunately, I only have one picture. Oops!

On our way back to the room, I wanted to find the Lady and the Tramp statue. I absolutely adore that movie, and really wanted to see the huge icon. I was pretty sure it was in the 50’s section, but we stopped a CM to make sure. He listened and looked at us as we inquired and then struggled to find the words to answer us. Finally, he just said, “I’m sorry, I don’t know how to say that in English.” We thanked him anyway and just headed back to the room. :confused3

Our luggage still hadn’t been delivered yet, and I really wanted to get my park bag put together before bed, so we just lounged around and watched some TV. I ended up dozing while Tom flipped the channels. Sometime around midnight the luggage finally got delivered. At that point I was too tired and decided I would just get up a little early to unpack and get things together.

Our plan for the next day was to get to Epcot for rope drop at 9:00am, so I set the alarm for 6:45am. I wanted to be able to “snooze” a few times before I had to get up.

Coming up next…Epcot!

Are you sure you don't want to come to Disney during F&W? We could have some really good times!! :thumbsup2

Thanks for reading, Brenda! And yes, F&W is definitely a must for 2011!!!

Sorry you didn't get your king bed. We have one at home and the posters are so right. It's hard to go back to a double.

We have a king at home, too. That's why I knew I didn't want the two doubles! :rotfl:

Same here. Some whiteness would have been perfect, but this really puts a cramp in my plans for the next few days!

I had a few minutes to check the trip report board today and I found your trip report and I am pages and pages late!!! So sorry. I am so busy during the week that I barely have time to check subscriptions I have much less look for more.
I am so excited to read this!!! I am going to go back and get started! How cool that you got to get away just the two of you!!! :cool1:

Thanks so much for coming over, Cathy! I appreciate all the readers and comments!

I hate that first night exhaustion!! No fun! But your dinner and the relaxing in the room sound delightful!

Oh, I'm so behind! You've been busy!! The storm you got dropped a couple inches on us in OH on the way - must've picked up some major steam before it got to you guys!!! Glad we dodged most of it, because I spent the whole day shopping yesterday! My sister and I went out with no kids, went to lunch, shopped till we dropped, and ended the outing at Starbucks for coffee and treats. A really fun day. Speaking of treats, are you KIDDING ME about those cinnamon rolls?? Those things look RIDICULOUS!!!

A couple other comments....My DH and I would've been excited about the double beds! We love to stretch OUT! Our own beds would have been a treat -- you can always *visit* each other, right?

I was also super-impressed on our trip that those java monsters are considered a drink. I had so many of them -- wonder how many calories THAT added on to all the desserts, etc? Oh well -- vaca! :woohoo:

Sorry for the long reply -- guess I'm feeling "chatty" today, and DH is watching his TV and DD has a friend over. Can't wait to read about your park adventures!!

OMG! Those cinnamon rolls look heavenly. I followed the link and will e making those Christmas Morning for my mom and I.

I can't wait to read about your Epcot day. I think world showcase was my 2nd favorite place in the world behind MK.

I'm always amazed at the food selection at POP. I was less then impressed the the menu at ASMusic in Oct.

Better that you have an easy night of it then risk missing rope drop! :lmao:

Hey there, I finally made it over here!:wave2:

Off to a great start...those Monster drinks scare me! I've never been brave enough to try one.

Well, our school district announced that school is closed tomorrow! :woohoo: So.....we are going to head out after breakfast and see "The Princess and the Frog." I'm soooo excited because even Lee said he would go with us! Woo Hoo! This might be the last Disney flick I can drag him to!

Joining in!!! The cinnamon rolls look delicious. I may have to try to bake them this week.

Enjoy Princess and the Frog.

Ooohhh...I hope you like the movie! I want to go see it next week- I'm hoping to go with another DISer, because noone in my house would be caught dead at that movie!!! :rotfl: I did get Timmy to go see A Christmas Carol last weekend with my cousin and I- that was really good, and today I watched a DVD of UP with Sean and that was great, too. :goodvibes I can't believe school is closed down there! How much snow did you get?

I took a couple of sips (enough to swallow some pills), and it was really good. But I was afraid to drink it because the can said "double the buzz" of coffee!!! :scared1: Tom loved it, though!

i have to subscribe to a tr with cinnamon rolls in it!!

Welcome! Thanks for joining!

We especially loved it at night!

Hope you all enjoy the movie! :goodvibes

Thanks!

Enjoy Princess and the Frog.

Welcome, and thanks!

We ended up getting about 20 inches. A Christmas Carol was my second choice, but the girls were afraid it would be too creepy for them. I love Up and ended up buying it for myself!

I'm sorry about your room :( I stayed at All Star Sports before staying at Pop, which pleasantly surprised me. The food court has such a variety to choose from and you are right that the CM's there are very friendly! The Christmas decorations there seem like they would be a lot of fun!!

That Monster looks so scary! I had too much red bull one time while trying to study, like two huge cans. My whole body started to shake a few hours later and my heart was beating so fast I actually considered having my roommate take me to the hospital!

Can't wait to hear about the next day!
