Itchin' For Some Fun...12/10/09 - 12/14/09...Finished 3/17

Looks like a great visit. I LOVE the red Bowl. One of my BFF's lives in SC and I go there when I visit. What a small world!

OMG, they had the best food! I didn't try the sushi (wasn't in the mood), but everyone who did said it was great. I got the sesame shrimp and it was amazing. The portions were huge, too!

Hi Denise! I'm here (at last!) but confess I've got some backtracking to do!!

Happy New Year!

Kathy

I have your CD. I don't know exactly when I will get to the post office to get it mailed off, but I do have it for you. :)

When I left off, we had drifted off to sleep dreaming of our day at Hollywood Studios. Even though we hadn’t set an alarm, I was still awake by 6:30. So I went ahead and got up, showered, and played with the pictures from the day before. Tom got up around 8:00 and got showered.

Since we were taking it easy today, we decided to go ahead and have breakfast at Everything Pop before we headed over to DHS. Big mistake! That place was seriously crowded! We managed to find a table outside (nothing was available inside) and Tom waited while I went and got my meal. When I got back, he went and got his food. We ended up not eating together, because my food would have been cold if I had waited for him. But the food was delicious!

While I was standing in line, I couldn’t decide what to get. I definitely wanted the breakfast potatoes, but needed to decide between an omelet or the platter. I ended getting the Adult Breakfast Platter. It came with scrambled eggs, potatoes , a biscuit, sausage, and French toast (this is what won me over). On the dining plan for breakfast you get juice and another drink, so I got orange juice to drink now and orange soda to save for later.

Tom got the Western Omelet (which came with potatoes), a V-8 to drink now, and a Java Monster to save for later.

The total would have been $28.16, but we used two CS credits.

We finished up and Tom ran the drinks back to our room so we didn’t have to carry them through the parks. We must not have waited long for a bus, because my pictures show that we took our first picture at DHS at 9:24am. Not bad for a leisurely morning!

Here are some shots of the huge Christmas tree as you are walking toward the turnstiles.

We would be seeing these later tonight!

Not many people around; maybe this “skipping rope drop” thing should happen more often!

For all the Bo lovers…

Since we were doing the Toy Story Mania party later that night, we didn’t even bother with heading over that way now. Instead, we headed for Tower of Terror and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster! I absolute love, love, love Tower of Terror!!! It is my most favorite ride in all of Disney World! We hadn’t gotten very far, though, when CMs started shooing us off the street and onto the sidewalk, because High School Musical was making its way toward us. Since we had to stop anyway, I took a few pictures.

Then we were back on our way to…

Tom grabbed fastpasses for later, and then we hopped into the stand-by line. It was posted at 10 minutes, but we really just walked right in to the preshow area. I walked slowly so I could get some pictures.

...continued in next post...

After the preshow, we took the line to the left and were set for the next elevator!

We got front row!!! Oh my gosh, the ride was awesome! For the first time ever, I held my hands up for the drops and it made the ride so much better!

We ran back outside and the wait was still at 10 minutes, so we jumped back on! This time we got second row, but it was still good!

After our second ride on Tower of Terror, we headed over to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster.

I don’t remember what the stand-by time was, but the single rider time was 20 minutes, and that was the lesser wait. So we got in that line. We ended up waiting the whole 20 minutes, maybe a bit more.

The last time I rode this, I had my DD13 (then 7) with me and I was focusing on her enjoyment of the ride. So this time it was like I was experiencing it for the first time. It was so fast and fun!

After our ride, we briefly stopped in the dump shop.

Then we grabbed fastpasses for later. It was starting to get really warm outside, so we stopped at a nearby cart and got some drinks. Tom got a bottle of Diet Coke and I got a bottle of water. We paid out of pocket, because I wanted to make better use of snack credits.

Next up...more fun in Hollywood Studios...

awesome update! I will have to disagree about ToT being the best ride though:lmao: i REALLY did not like it at all! I wanted to like it, but I hated it lol! I'm nervous to try RnR, but think I will like that better than ToT. Looking forward to reading more about your day at DHS!

I love that DHS Christmas tree with the film reels!

Yeay for a pic of Bo!!!

You got some awesome photos of the ToT queue! :thumbsup2

I had no idea you can get a juice and another drink with breakfast.

Love your DHS photos, especially ToT. Maybe one day, I'll have enough courage to try it :lmao:

Sounds like the wait times were absolutely fantastic at Hollywood Studios despite the fact that you didn't get there at rope drop. What a daredevil you are turning into.....holding your hands up on Tower of Terror. I rode it for the first time this trip and there's no way I'd hold up my hands.

Yeah, you get the second drink instead of dessert.

Great TOT pictures! I have never done that ride (nor do I plan to) so it was cool to see how well the theming is done. Lucky that you got to go 2 times so quickly.

Nice updates - read the Christmas one last night and those little girls are beautiful. Sounds like you had a lovely Christmas.

Today's update was stellar, but I can't see any of your pics rights now. ugggghhhh! I don't know why I torture myself. Back to back ToT - I don't think I am that brave yet. But, you never know......maybe someday! LOL!

I will comment more after I scour the pics.

You'll love it! The take-off is so cool!

Yeay for a pic of Bo!!!

I told Tom I was taking the picture for you and Chelsea, and he just shook his head like I was crazy. :rolleyes1

Great ToT pics!

Thanks! Tom had control of the camera on our Epcot day, and he didn't get nearly as many pics as I wanted, so this day *I* had the camera! :rotfl:

I had no idea you can get a juice and another drink with breakfast.

Yep, it was nice to have that extra drink for later! :thumbsup2

We were so pleased with the wait times! I couldn't believe how much different the ride felt just by holding up my hands. I could feel it a lot more in my stomach, which I love!!!

Great TOT pictures! I have never done that ride (nor do I plan to) so it was cool to see how well the theming is done.

I'm so glad I was able to get those pictures! I wish I could spend more time wandering around in there!

I'm definitely not brave enough to go on ToT, nevermind twice in a row!!!! Thanks for the pictures. At least I get to see the queue without having to go on the ride.

Everything Pop is always busy it seems. Unless you can get up and out at 6:30am....

They never had that x-mas tree up at DHS when I was there in November! Boo!

I love the photos with the family...looks like you were all having a lovely time...

I am so impressed that you rode both RnRC and ToT...I will definitely ride RnRC next time but I just don't know about ToT...although i'm really impressed with your photos and I know that the theming is amazing...

Just the thought of free falling...:confused3...maybe I'll do it once...I'd really like to...

sigh...I'm just afraid of that feeling...

I hope Tom bought that hat...I think it is fabulous!...:thumbsup2

Great ToT pics. And I will comment for LL - I LOVE that light fixture - I totally missed that in September!!!!!! I must find that!

Breakfast looks pretty yum!
