Need a Christmas gift for my aunt & uncle. They are about to retire & don't need any more "things". They are planning their third trip to Italy in the Fall so I'm thinking a nice bottle of Italian wine. Any suggestions?
Sartori is a popular label, and their Pinot Grigio is my favorite. I tried it at EPCOT! If you have a Cost Plus World Market store in your area they will have an Italian section, they have the best selection of wine for great prices. I've never been disappointed in anything I bought there.
limoncello is the national drink of Italy and is very yummy (tastes like lemonade) I make my own every year. They sell nice gifts sets with a bottle and glasses for a reasonable price.
For wine I would also recommend the Castello Banfi Rosa Regale
I was going to suggest the Banfi Rosa Regale too. We used this as our champagne at our wedding and everyone loved it. I usually don't like wine but this is just too good! We just bought another bottle to have on Christmas.
My DH and I now are buying our wines by the case from a company, PRP. We picked up a case of a varietal called Travicello-it is Sooooo good. Dunno if you can find it elsewhere, but it's very yummy!
I love the Trentino Moscato that I had in Palo's on the Disney Cruise!
You may have to make some calls to find it. I found some once at a restaurant that has a good sized wine cellar. It is not widely available. I believe it is from a small winery in Trentino in Northern Italy. I know it can be ordered online. But, it's getting close to Christmas now!
