Me and my girl friend are heading back down to Disney in November and started to look at some restaurants we want to try this time we are down there. What are some good Italian restaurants to eat at?

We ate at Mama Melrose's on our last visit and liked it alot. :thumbsup2

Il Mulino at the Swan is very good.:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

We also like Mama Melrose.

We (DW, DD-12, DD-9, DS-6, DS-5 and I) along with two other families, have ADR's for Via Napoli in May. We are REALLY looking forward to the pizza.

Maybe Tony's in MK next year!

There are two excellent places in the Italian pavilion at Epcot World Showcase: Tutto Italia and Via Napoli. Go to the top of the Dis page and click on dining. It takes a little time to click thru but you can view each menu.

Portobello at Downtown Disney is very good, no on the DP though. We also enjoy Via Napoli and Tutto Italia in Epcot.

Il Muliono is, far and away, the best Italian food at WDW. It is, however, not on the dining plan.

Il Mulino is awesome, the rest are OK at best.
There are items at each of the other Italian eateries that are good but far, far, far from excellent. You could pretty much go to Carrabas have better food and save money if either is an issue.

Look at the foodpix threads to help decide, what is described in words looks different in a pic.

Thanks for the responses. I have heard and checked out all the restaurants that were listed except for Il Mulino. Ill have to check that one out. Not sure yet if we will be on the dining plan yet or not so I will have to take that into consideration as well. Thanks again!

IMO DDP is not worth it. Il Mulino is not on the plan, as you probably know. The Italian Restaurant in Italy is great!

Il Mulino!! My boyfriend and I ate there and we both LOVED it. The staff was amazing and so was the food.

Il Mulino is definitely the best, especially if you are looking for a quieter meal in a more upscale setting. We also like Portabello at DTD but not as much as Il Mulino. Both are better than the Epcot restaurants.

I would rank them in this order, have not tried Il Mulino (Want to now, though!):

Tier 1: Tutto Italia (really good)

Tier 2: Tony's, Mama Melrose (in that order)

Tier 3: Via Napoli Pizza

Tier 4: The crappy CS italian food at POFQ quick service.

Tier 5: Via Napoli for anything other than pizza. Pizza was good, everything else was terrible.

Another great thing about Il Mulino is that restaurant.com has gife certificates to them for like $2 eacg.. You can only use 1 per table and only 1 per month or so, but $25 off is $25 off.. Definitely something to think about..

Via Napoli was the best pizza I've ever had, truly felt authentic with all of the ingredients imported from Italy.
