IT

For me, it's The Mist..the ending of that movie guts me.

Gerald's Game is coming to Netflix later this month and I have high hopes for it.

Ooooooooh the Mist! That's right, that one is chilling at the end.

I wonder how a re-make of Pet Cemetary would play out. Oh wait never mind I don't want to know... I think I creeped myself out thinking about it!

Me and my daughter saw the movie this afternoon. The daughter was scared several times, but I have to admit I was somewhat disappointed.

I will preface this with the fact that I had just finished rereading the book just before going to the movie, so the story was very fresh in my mind. I was NOT expecting a word for word rendition of the book on-screen - the book is far too long and detailed for that to happen! What i did hope for was that they try to capture the feel of the book. On this I believed the mark was missed. The two things that stood out for me were :

1. The children were all around 11 ~12 in the book. This was still an innocent part of their time in the story. To have the Beverly character insinuated to be "loose" in the first time she is introduced was completely out of character. Even though she wasn't, it just didn't fit.

2. Belch and his fellow goons were in the same age group as the "losers". They were not several years older and driving a car!

I wasn't planning on seeing it, but I have to admit I get more interested in a movie when half the people I know that saw it say it was the BEST movie ever, and half say it was the WORST ever.

I'm not that into horror movies and haven't seen IT, but it absolutely DESTROYED box office predictions with a massive $117M opening! That is huge, especially for an R-rated movie. Good job!

We saw it yesterday. I thought it was great. The casting of the kids really helped, great acting. Our local theater had 24 showings a day!
Agree about the end of The Mist, I was shell shocked after that, I had read the story and knew how that ended. It took me awhile to decide if I thought the ending of the movie was a good choice or a horrible choice. I do think it was a good choice. Not surprised he didn't think of it, he has a knack of ending his books terrible.
Stand By Me is probably my favorite of his movies, loved the Green Mile also.
Tried Under the Dome and The Mist on TV. Made it through one episode of the first and 3 episodes of the 2nd. Both horrible. I loved Kingdom Hospital though, that show was fun.
I do enjoy a lot of his movies, even if they aren't great, Cujo, Christine, The Shining, 1408 (I love this one), Carrie, Children of the Corn (the first one only, no sequels or remakes).
