It wouldn't be spring without an Epcot F&G Festival! New pg 35

Looks great Amy!
Have you done the dessert party before? How much is it? I was thinking about surprising my mom with it this year.
We love Sci-Fi it is the boys' favorite!!!

Plans look good! Tough call on the IOA. You guys go enough, and the kids are young enough that you could wait if you want. I guess it depends on how into HP they are and if it is something they are asking for. I'm not sure if you already have waterpark tickets but if not you could consider letting them choose between those 2 if you need to give something up.

I've not been overwhelmed at Sci Fi though it is definitely better for lunch than for dinner, it just always seemed very overpriced for what it was, though the food was fine. The atmosphere is darn fun though!

We've never been before but as much as the boys like fireworks, they hate not having somewhere to sit when we wait & we all hate the crowds. I think this will be great for us. It's $24 for adults & $12 or $13 for kids.

Tim & the boys have 10 waterpark & more tickets each so Typhoon Lagoon & Disney Quest will be free - I'll just have to buy an AP discounted ticket for myself.

The boys aren't into Harry Potter at all... they've heard of him but that's it. They've never seen a movie or read a book so that's not an issue at all. Tim is a big HP fan & has read all the books so he's the one most interested.

I'm going to have a plan A & a plan B and we'll see what happens.

I think your plans look great. I think there is a ton of variety in place and you are so lucky to have such a nice long spring break trip!

I'm back and catching up on all my threads, Amy.

I have to say that my son would say "skip Universal" and go to the ballgame (but then he played ball for 18 years and, in fact, went to Boston and New York to go to a Red Sox game and a Yankees game the summer my dad passed away).

I love your plans for your last two days. I do love LeCellier for lunch. We ate at Sci-Fi last week and my burger and onion rings were very, very good.

Amy your plans look wonderful! Love your dining choices. I could see how the boys really enjoyed Sci Fi, we really enjoyed the atmosphere when we went on our honeymoon.

It sounds like a very relaxing and fun vacation:goodvibes

I tried to book the party but there was nothing available for the whole week!!!
Do you know if it's only offered on certain nights? Did you book it a while ago?

Back with other replies later but wanted to answer this one now...

They do the ADRs for this party a little bit different than regular ADRs. April hasn't been released yet. There's a Wishes Dessert Party thread on the dining board that you can sub to to find out more info. They are currently accepting ADRs through March. I think they wait to open the parties up until they have the park schedule set in stone. You should be able to get an ADR any night they have Wishes.

K thanks I'll look for the thread :)

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a good weekend & enjoyed the Super Bowl. It was a sad night at our house that ended with Zach crying himself to sleep! :headache:

On to better news... you may notice a new ticker in my signature. :rolleyes1 I'll be heading back to Disney in October with my two best DISfriends - Julie (MouseScrapper) and Heidi (MRYPPNS) for a girls weekend!! There will be a group PTR starting up shortly with all of the juicy details! Thanks to Heidi for creating our fun ticker!!

This will be our longest Disney trip so far, and probably our longest for a long time since Alex will be in middle school next year. I think we have a great mix of parks, resort time & other fun things mixed in. :thumbsup2

I think the boys would agree to cutting things back on our April trip for the baseball adventures... if they knew about the trip yet. ;) We had so much fun last summer going to minor league games & one Red Sox game.

Sci Fi is fun & hopefully Tim will have such low expectations this time that he'll enjoy it.

Amy, I found the thread thanks!

Go PATS!!!! :)

:sad2: So sad about the Pats! :sad1:

Possible Changes:
Here’s what our plans looked like a couple weeks ago. ;)

Thursday, 4/19: Arrival, hang out at BC (dinner at ‘Ohana)
Friday, 4/20: Hollywood Studios (lunch at 50s)
Saturday, 4/21: Hang out at BC/Boardwalk area (lunch at ESPN & dinner at Cape May)
Sunday, 4/22: Epcot (lunch at Teppan Edo with Heidi)/move from BC to Vistana Villages
Monday, 4/23: Animal Kingdom & HDDR
Tuesday 4/24: Magic Kingdom
Wednesday 4/25: Islands of Adventure (lunch at NBA City)
Thursday 4/26: Typhoon Lagoon
Friday 4/27: DHS (Sci Fi lunch), MK (dinner at Chef Mickeys) & Wishes dessert party
Saturday 4/28: Epcot (Le Cellier) & AK
Sunday 4/29: Early flight home

Then we went & bought a bunch of baseball tickets & planned a trip to NYC for August. We’re still on the fence about cutting Islands of Adventure but I have a backup plan for if we do… Disney Quest!

Instead of visiting Universal/Islands of Adventure on Wednesday 4/25, we’ll visit Disney Quest! We’ll still go to Magic Kingdom on Tuesday, 4/24 but we’ll move our Wishes dessert party to this night rather than Friday night. Luckily I made a backup Chef Mickey’s ADR for this night so we can still follow our original plan to eat at Chef Mickey’s, walk to MK, stay through Wishes then be able to walk back to CR & avoid the huge line for the monorail. This will also allow us to take advantage of a lazy morning after the late MK night since DQ doesn’t open until 11:30. (Picturs from Mickeyxtreme)

I’ll probably plan a dinner at Downtown Disney after DisneyQuest. I'm leaning toward Raglan Road at the moment.

Up next: To do list & telling the boys.

Aww..poor Zach! Chin up buddy...baseball season is just around the corner!

Disney Quest is a great idea. We loved it, a big surprise to me as I was skeptical, on our last trip.:thumbsup2

Woo-Hoo!! A girls' trip! SO fun!

I know... poor boy! I tried to convince him that baseball would be here before he knew it, but he was buying it! :sad2:

I'm excited for DQ - I think, even if money weren't the issue, I might even choose it over IOA. It looks like the boys will really like it.

Hey Amy  Sorry I'm late to the party. I didn't realize you had started a PTR. :upsidedow

Your plans look great! :thumbsup2 I think the BC will be a wonderful start to your vacation. And taking the whole trip at a slower pace is always good. :cloud9:

It looks like we will be getting the BC noodles next after you! Too bad you are checking out before we get there though, we could have met up. Maybe we'll see you sometime though, since you will still be at WDW until the 29th.

I have thought about Disney Quest too. Several times, but we just don't even seem to make it happen. :confused3 It seems to get mixed reviews. Maybe I should consider adding it to this trip. I think the boys would really like it. We'll see...

Looking forward to reading more. popcorn::

Amy, the plans sound great.

We did Disney Quest when it first opened ONLY because we got free passes for the games (and there weren't many at that time). Truthfully, I was a bad momma and told my kids it didn't go over well and that it wasn't open on future visits. I just couldn't see spending the money and I was bored out of my mind. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

You'll have to let me know how NBA City is. We've though of trying that on our next visit to CityWalk.

We have always had a lot of fun at Disney Quest but we are also big video games people. I don't think it's an all day place tho.

So sad about the Pats!!! I really thought they were gonna win- before it started.
My DS10 started crying w/ 1 min. left he kept asking are they gonna lose?! There was no consoling him even when we told him he won the pool for the 4th qtr.
Disney Quest does look a lot better than I thought. My kids would LOVE that place but since my oldest DS lives for video games I try to stay away from them on vacation :).
Looking forward to more plans- all these plans make me think I need to look at mine again I feel like after a made my ADRs and picked park days I haven't looked at them in a while.

I was also throwing around the DisneyQuest idea for our upcoming trip, my kids are just too young. Yours however I think will have a GREAT time, it seems like a perfect place to take your boys if you decide not to do IOA. Plus a morning to sleep in is always great too. :thumbsup2 Excited to see how you'll be telling the boys this time:goodvibes

Disney Quest looks like fun.

And you'll love the Marriott Marquis. The location is AMAZING!
