This is kinda a pre-trip report. It is pretty general, but I had to post somewhere about all of our topsy turvey Disney planning that has been going on this week!!!
Here's the history: Me, the hubby, DD (4) and DS (1) went to Disney last December for 10 days. It was to be the trip of a lifetime! (Well, until the kids got older.) We had a blast! The weather was beautiful, lines were short, and we all got along great! So come March I have the opportunity to do scoring tests from home to make some money...I convince hubby that we can use it to go back to Disney. He said ok!! So we tentatively plan to go back this year sometime. About June I convince him that we will make a reservation and after much debate, we decide to go in October this time and we get reservations to take an extended Disney vacation (14 nights!!!!) in the LM rooms! I was thrilled! We were hoping for free dining, but knew it might not happen. Hubby says we may not go if no free dining. We were fortunate and received some inheritance so that was retracted and we were going! Free dining comes out and LM is not eligible. Very bummed. But with the extra money we had received this year, DH decides on POR in the royal guest rooms. I think the kids will love it! (And we are value people so this will be a treat!) We get all of our dining reservations when we want them including CRT, Le Cellier, Ohana, Chef Mickey, Crystal Palace, and a fantasmic dinner package. I am left to twiddle my thumbs as I don't have to be on the web looking for better ADRs twenty times a day!!!! We are excited! We even at the water parks and more option to try them out since we will be there so long!
THEN my hip hurts. It has been hurting. I think it is maybe a muscle pull. At this point the trip is in about 4 months. So I decide to go to an orthopedic so I can do what I need to so it will be great for the trip (I had plantar fasciitis really bad before our last trip and finally got it almost under control less than a week before we left. I don't want to cut it close again.) He thinks the IT band is just tight. I get sent home with a cortisone shot and some exercises. I feel good for about two days then it comes back. To make a long story short I go back several times, get sent to a physiatrist, get sent back to the orthopedic, have lots of x-rays, and had two MRI's. Three weeks ago I get told I have a torn labrum and hip impingement and get sent to a specialized orthopedic. Apparently my hip is in really bad shape and I need hip surgery. I am told there is nothing to do to make it feel better (tylenol and ibuprofen don't work), but nothing will make it worse so go ahead to Disney and have surgery when I get home. I am a bit worried about all the walking at Disney and the pain, but I don't want to cancel as I am REALLY looking forward to this trip. So what to do?!?!?!!?!?!?!?
