It was to be a SURPRISE trip, but I blew it May 2012 PTR (New May 9 )

Well, I checked and Star Wars starts that weekend so I'm changing things up a bit.
First day- E, Second day- MK, Third- AK & DTD evening, Fourth - HS
Lexi wants to see some of the Star Wars stuff. We are not "fans" by any means.
The best day suggested was Sunday so I will go with that.

I am SUPER EXCITED to meet too! We can work out something for sure. :goodvibes

I'm going to cancel my ADR's and just do counter service. Something I'm not used to but I know we won't go hungry. :rotfl:
Apparently, the buses don't run early enough to make it to the early breakfasts at the parks from POR.

It sure is nice to have a break isn't it? I'm sure your parents will come around if they see how much the CP means to you...I sure hope so!

It really is! My last break was Christmas, so it was definitely much needed! I really hope so! I think they are starting to understand it a little bit more, and they know that it's my dream; they're just more worried about the money!

Enjoying your PTR! I have a mother/daughter trip planned for 5/4 to 5/11 with my youngest DD(9). My DH isn't quite the Disney fanatic the kids & I are but we do take a family trip once a year. Then I switch off with the kids for one to one trips.

I've been going the first week of May for my bday since 2006. It can be very hot. I actually find the heat harder to deal with in May than our summer trips because it is so much cooler at home in May so I'm not used to the heat. I'm sure you'll love your afternoon pool breaks.

I met your sister (purplepeg) & niece at ASMusic in 2008. My oldest DD(almost 13 now) spent an afternoon swimming with your niece.

11 pages???? Already????????? OMG!!! Okay, you're just gonna make me have to get that app for my phone so I can read these things on the go. I'm determined I'm going to keep up with this one. Not this morning, though.... will have to try to get back over here this evening. But I had to post something so I could subscribe!!!! :thumbsup2

Enjoy shopping - I went yesterday and am all maxed out lol

DHS plans sound good - finishing the evening with Via Napoli, a GGS and Illuminations :cloud9: :cloud9:

Joining in (a bit late here)! Sorry about that Queen, I think I've written enough on why I haven't been on since around Christmas, but it's pretty obvious. Okay, moving on... That is so cool you were planning on putting on a surprise trip for Jasmine! And even more to add, it's happening in MAY! So jealous, because if I had my way and my birthday trip was set in motion I may have been going at this time :( Well, I won't dwell on that too much because today is the one-year anniversary of the last trip to WDW I had and I'm doing well might I add. Hopefully a trip is looming in the coming years... Anyways, seems like you have good plans so far! And I'm so shocked they are just stating a rule for the FPs now, a bit crazy after all these years now, I must say, but personally I never looked for that lee-way route EVER. I mean, a few times when I used FPs to get on rides the person manning the entrance there would have us wait a minute until our FP time alotted was open. It was ridiculous, but still I didn't go "Oh let's use them now, earlier!" So, I wouldn't get too hyped up unless you really rely heavily on using FPs at different times than when you snagged them, but it isn't that big of a deal. Alright, enough of my little rant on that. Can't wait to find out about more plans for this trip! :mickeyjum

Hey Queen :)
We're on the plane toward home and. I'm entertaining on the Dis. Plans sound great. FYI-dhs eliminated the rope drop ceremony and let everyone in 15 minutes early. They are trying to eliminate the mad dash :)

Wow I have missed out on some planning here :rolleyes1. I think it is so good to head back to the room to cool off and have some pool time, but if Dale gets back to the room he usually don't want to go back out. Dallas and I have gotten used to heading back to the parks without him :lmao:.

Funny story about just that. One evening, when we were there in December 2010, Dale didn't want to go back to the park, but Dallas and I did. We were staying at Pop Century that stay. Dale talked me into driving our van instead of waiting for the bus(it was REALLY cold). So off to Epcot we went. I had no problem at all getting to the park!! Easy as pie. Getting back to the resort..........well...........another story :lmao:. The exits were really confusing and we stayed until the park closed so of course it was DARK. I missed our turn and we ended up way out in the woods. Dallas said "Mom I think we're lost. I just saw an armadillo holding up a sign saying "Go Back". Now of course when he said that I lost it :lmao:.

Needless to say I found a place to turn around and found our exit. Dale won't let me live that one down!!

Queen, sorry I missed the update of the DHS day (work has been continually busy and is getting busier and I've not had as much DIS time).

I love your plans (well, except for R&R which I am not a fan of). I definitely think the bribe of a cupcake would work if you trying to bribe me. :goodvibes

We will definitely work out all the details! I don't blame you for cancelling your ADR's...if the buses can't get you there! There are so many great counter options I'm know you won't go hungry:rotfl2:

I can understand the money situation it can put a lot of pressure on! But you're a great girl and I know that they'll do what they can to help if they can:yay:

I love that arrangement....that's a great way to split up one on one time with each child:thumbsup2

I can see that...we sometimes have a really warm May and other years we still have snow so we'll have to wait and see:rolleyes1

I remember you meeting up with Peg...I can't for the life of me remember what we were doing that afternoon but I was bummed that I missed a Dis-meet!

You definitely need the app honey! Can't wait to see you again!!

Jasmine is off today but we had a blizzard yesterday so we are using today as a snow day:rotfl2:we are having a mom/daughter relaxing day....but Jeff is coming for dinner when he's off work:goodvibes

A year sure does pass quickly doesn't it? Too bad you weren't going to be there at the same time as us:confused3 I hope the FP doesn't affect us too much, we pretty much go with the flow so I think we'll be ok!

Hi Dawn...we thought about you guys everyday and Jas would tell me where you were and what you were doing....my computer time has come to a screeching halt during the week. That's interesting about rope drop....people were crazy during the mad dash!

Dana, that is hilarious! How did you not drive off the road from laughter! That kid is a comic genius!

Hi Kathy! I am having no luck getting on the Dis during the week...by the time I get home from work, get dinner on and the dishes done, I'm exhausted!

Thanks Kathy and I wish I could still do the parks all day but those days are gone for me! One of these years when we're there together we'll share a cupcake!

Time for another update! Finding time to get on here during the week is proving to be more difficult than I thought! I have started going to the gym before work so I am there at 6 home by 7 (it's right at the end of our street) and off to work by 8! I'm exhausted when I get home but love doing the gym first...I figured I'm awake anyways might as well be there!

May 23 - our first complete down day of the trip! If Jeff was coming with us we would have purchased the Water Park and More option on our passes but since it's just us we will stay at the resort and enjoy the pool. We have been tossing around the idea of getting up and heading to DTD for a little breakfast at either EOS or WPE and then doing a little shopping. I find the area a little crazy in the evening and hard to wander around and leisurely look at what we want to buy! We'll then head back to the resort for our standard pool time afternoon and then get ready for an evening out. Originally we thought that would be at DTD but now we're thinking about resort hopping around the monorail line....just to wander around the shops in each resort and the grounds!

We've been for meals at each of these resorts but never really took the time to walk around and see what they have to offer so that's the plan! We'll eat at whatever counter service catches our fancy at the moment!

I have started a list of "things to buy" which is never good because it just continues to grow and grow!! What's on there? Let me tell you.....pens, new beach towels (we usually bring from home but it's time for 2 new ones) two new Christmas ornaments (Jasmine is starting to think about buying stuff for when she moves out ... which I hope isn't for a very long time....and with University starting in the fall I'll have her for at least 4 more) a new tree topper (ours broke last year) antenne topper or 5 :lmao: and OHHHHH I FORGOT TO TELL YOU>......

Those of you who have followed us know Carrie-Lynn, she took us to the airport when Thomas Jasmine and I went in 2010, chaperoned Jasmine's 18th birthday party at the club and just a sweet sweet girl! I am so happy to say that she is expecting in July and we found out yesterday that it is a GIRL!!!! Jasmine was so excited and the first thing she said was "think of all the things we can buy her in Disney". I think we may pick up a thing or two!!!

Jasmine has been working very hard at only visiting Starbucks once a payday so she is doing great with her savings for the trip! She still has stuff she needs for the trip but wants to wait until closer to our departure day to buy anything because she gained 5 pounds over the winter:rolleyes1 Really??? I was supportive and said well you're going to the gym....blah blah blah....Really 5 pounds......supportive I need to be supportive as I battle to loose 50!!:lmao:

I won't even begin to think about shopping until beginning of May! I was doing so well with my "life style change" not allowed to call it dieting, before my mom passed away and then I gained 15 pounds back:sad1: I have lost 9 of it and am more motivated than ever. Having a Disney Trip does help and also having the gym at the end of the street (it's literally 8 houses from me) makes it easier!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend and we'll chat again soon:yay:

My, my, my. You've got a lot of shopping to do when you're there. I agree with DTD being packed in the evenings. It's so hard to get over there in the morning though unless you specifically plan to sacrifice rope drop at a park. That doesn't happen very often for me :rotfl:

Tell Jasmine from me that 5 pounds is really not a big deal. It could very well be muscle weight? That girl is gorgeous and could wear a paper bag and still look pretty. And as for you missy, stay motivated! You have a gym right down the street from you?! How convenient is that? Just make sure you keep eating healthy (cause starving yourself won't help) and take Jasmine with you. It could be a Gilmore Girls moment except you two actually use the equipment :rotfl:

Good for you with the Gym!! :thumbsup2

Have a great day yourself!! Hopefully we do a dis meet soon with the Winnpeg
Dissers!!

Debbie

I'd love to have a gym so close, I'd definitely go every morning!
I love the idea of just resort hopping and shopping at each one and checking them all out and just eating wherever strikes you. That sounds so relaxing and interesting!
p.s. you told me to let you know when I start the new PTR and I have! Top line of my signature! :)

I do love my WDW shopping but I have curtailed it so much over the past few years...there's just those few things that I buy every year to remind me why I get up and go to work everyday:lmao:

I will have her read this post because you are right! She has been going to the gym since the fall and I bet that's exactly what it is! I promise you I don't starve myself and I am more motivated now than ever....I really don't have a choice, it's get your but to the gym or be unhealthy ... not an option! I love it when her and I go together...she's running on the threadmill talking about to me and I'm on the threadmill barely able to breathe:lmao: You can't buy time like these:rotfl2:

Good for you with the Gym!! :thumbsup2

Thanks Debbie...it does make it easier being right there...no excuses! I hope so too...I really need to get on that!!

What I love the most is that it's a women's only facility so no one's there trying to pick someone up...which absolutely made me howl at the last gym I went to. Girls with full blown makeup including false eyelashes to work out and all they do is giggle....:rotfl2:

Thanks for the heads up....on my way over now!!!!

Looks like you have some good plans for this day! :) DTD sounds like a nice plan, same with resort hopping. I think you'll definitely get a lot out of checking out the surrounding resorts, especially the monorail resorts, they are firstly, quite a sight and I think you'll definitely find some good counter services. :thumbsup2

Wow, that's a long list of stuff to buy. I thought I always bought too much in Disney lol ;) Good thing though you are saving up, since it looks like stuff you need to buy before and after the trip does keep growing like you said.

Good luck with your losing 50 pounds! I think by getting that gym time in the morning will definitely help, even though I'm probably the worst expert here  And 5 lbs... really? ... If I gained that much, a growing teen, I would be yelled at by my doctor to gain more. It really is insignificant, so she shouldn't get too hyped up on that.

Hope you are having a nice weekend too! (: Can't wait to hear more about plans for your trip! :mickeyjum

:rotfl2: I've been compiling a shopping list too! I'm trying not to write it down, because I don't want DH to have a heart attack (we probably wouldn't get to go to Disney if he was in the hospital :lmao:)

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Good for you going to the gym every morning! I can't seem to get myself on the stationary bike--and it's in my basement!

A day full of shopping, swimming, and resort hopping sounds amazing! I know you can't beat hanging out in WDW...but that's pretty close. And it's even better when you have lots of different things to buy.

That's great that you have a gym so close. Saves time not having to drive any extra before/after work. And Disney trips are such a great motivator. I find that I do better when I tell myself I'll soon be in Photopass pictures, plus I reward myself with new outfits for the trip. :thumbsup2 And if Jasmine's still discouraged just tell her that muscle weighs more and that five pounds can easily be water weight or just a bad week. It's not unusual for a person's weight to fluxate 3-5lbs.

YAY for heading to the gym--I'm hoping for some warmer temps around home, so I can get outside more!

I like the idea of heading over to DTD in the morning. It seems as if when I've been over there during evenings, that I can't even begin to enjoy looking at everything for fighting through crowds. However, I'm like Jenbear---I can't make myself sacrifice a park opening to go shop in the morning. Maybe if I was doing a 2 week trip? ;)
