It was only a matter of time.

Yikes.... reminds me of Aldous Huxley or Soilent Green or something like that

NOTHING is "perfect'.

Furthermore, I don't see any problem with cloning, as long as they don't se them for military purposes.

Boy....this is a hard topic. I'll be the first to admit that I don't know as much about cloning as I should. BUT I find it a bit frightening as a concept itself.

Now, to add a twist I have a brother with diabetes, a sister who is having alot of trouble conceiving, and a grandmother with Parkinson's disease. They would all benefit from research done on stem cells. I just have this sick feeling in the pit of my stomach thinking about the cells being taken from embryos. I think I remember correctly that scientists have even mentioned getting stem cells from placentas. I think they're not quite as good as embryonic cells but if someone had asked me I would definitely have donated all of my placentas for research.

This definitely smells like a debate!!!!

cloning does sound scary but it could be used for good
i think it's fine as long as it's used for good and not used for bad

but this will be very interesting to watch and see what happens

I get a sick feeling when I think of parents trying to 'replace' a lost child.

Reminds of the movie Boys From Brazil.

This is probably just a publicity stunt, thanks for the link Hound.

In the immortal words of WILL RODGERS:

DON'T BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU READ IN THE PAPERS

I agree with WDW Hound. It is HIGHLY DOUBTFUL that this guy actually did what he is claiming. He does not have the technical expertise or facilities to have done what he says he did.

And don't be fooled about Dolly the sheep. The HUMAN genome is much different from a sheep.

This "Dr" has provided no evidence to back up his claims. Don't believe everything you read Jules.
