It was all started by a towel...

August 4 pics from AK, and the observation deck of Cali Grill. DH did not bring his tripod to dinner, so they are a bit blurry. The 5 legged goat can be seen in the pic of the mural at the Contemporary. ;)

This is the first trip that DS carried a bag in the parks. He actually did really well. He kept track of it, he carried it himself, it worked out great! He had his camera, his cell phone, his coins for pressed penny machines, his poncho, and his badge holder with his park pass and room key. We do NOT allow him to have room charge privileges. I kept his money in the room safe. If he bought something we charged it to the room with my key or DH's key, then I took the money out of his envelope later.

I think we only got a locker 3 or 4 days this trip. In the past we have had a locker every day. I am trying to remember why we used to get a locker. I think it was because of the refillable mugs. We would bring the mugs on the bus in the AM, then rinse them and refill them on the way back to the room in the afternoon. No mugs this trip meant we didn't really need a locker. DH typically did NOT carry a bag, which is why he looked like a drowned rat after that one rainstorm. His shirt was still wet 3 days later. I encouraged him to bring a bag after that, but he didn't.

Star, you have incredible eyesight! :thumbsup2 I did finally spot it, but it took me a minute!

wish I could get my kids to carry a bag....

Not only did he carry it, he was PROUD of it. :rotfl2: I think he thought it was some sort of rite of passage.

My boys always carry their own bag, I refuse to carry stuff for them. I have enough on my own :rotfl:

Janet, when I picked up my purse this morning it felt so LIGHT! I was worried that I didn't put everything back in there. I think it was just so much lighter than the darn park bag I thought it was lighter than it should have been! :rotfl2:

I tried a couple of times to figure out what to take OUT of the park bag, but really, what can you take out that you won't need? Camera? Poncho? The rest of the stuff isn't heavy!

I carried a Baggalini messenger bag this year. First of all, it is heavy when it is empty. Second, it looked STUPID when I tried to wear it across my body. And third, I could hang it over my left shoulder pretty well, but it isn't made to be hung over the right so I got tired of not being able to switch shoulders. I swear, ONE OF THESE DAYS, I will find a park bag that I love as much as my Adidas mini-backpack. Unfortunately, the only way to know if a bag is right for the parks is to test it. On an actual trip. So far I have 3 small bags that do NOT fit the bill. My closet is starting to fill up.

Can you email me the cat pic please? Thanks! :teeth:

Tell DH his pictures are great!

I can, but I will have to think really hard about how to do it! :rotfl2: It is in the laptop and Photobucket, but not the desktop. But look! I have your e-mail written down, so that's one less obstacle! :thumbsup2 I don't have e-mail set up in the laptop like I do in the desktop so I just need to figure out how to send it to you. :)

Oh, and if you can tell me WHICH cat it is (Si or Am) I will be mightily impressed! For the record, I don't know which one it is.

Just as I suspected, we have weirdness with the way the photos are organized. :headache: Gallery automatically sorts them by date, but Photobucket pulls them from the folders the way we dumped the memory cards. DH did NOT tag all of the memory card folders with the proper dates, so we will be backtracking a bit tonight. These are from August 5.
