August 2025 Refurbs - Haunted Mansion down on 8/9 for overlay installation - Radiator Springs Racers down 8/18

To me, Fantasyland is Disneyland. I have vivid memories of being there on crisp summer evenings riding Casey Jr., Mr. Toad, Pinocchio, etc. As the world changes, and as Disneyland changes, Fantasyland is wonderfully nostalgic and authentic.

The Casey Jr. / Storybook Land combo is very impressive. The use of space is amazing because they literally stacked rides on top of each other!

As to Autopia, I have a new love for the ride. I know lots of people don't like it and the smell/gas is an issue, but when you have little kids you have a new appreciation for the thrill of the ride! The combo Autopia is also quite a pretty ride. Compared to Tomorrowland Speedway, Autopia is 100x better! I do remember Autopia with the split tracks AND the adjacent Motorboat Cruise (not to mention the People Mover and Skyway Buckets going overhead and through the Matterhorn).

Let's be honest, tickets to DCA only should be cheaper every day. There is so much less to do there compared to DL and the situation is worse when two major rides are offline. They also still have Guardians at 2/3 capacity and Soarin at 1/2 capacity. The situation in August could be pretty grim at DCA if at least Soarin is not back up to 100%.

It will get worse next year with Monsters Inc. closing. Eventually, there will be the two new Avengers rides, Coco, and Avatar. That's still a ways off!
DCA was my favorite Park before covid. We rarely go in there now because there is not much to do and it is always so packed. Add a ride or two going down and it is the no fun zone. We go there to use our lightning lanes and get out as soon as they're done

I don't dislike DCA, but I agree with you. I view it as DL plus some cool things to do at DCA. It's hard to compare to DL, especially when operating with so many fewer attractions. They are working on it! 4 new things coming in the next 5 years or so.

I tend to like the food better in DCA (well, and beer 😜), but I agree, it feels supplemental to DL. That's why I could never imagine a visit without hoppers.

Since we are talking about Casey Jr, its to me super underrated (but also we have 50+ attractions at Disneyland so some will always just not be talked about as much)

Casey at night is wonderful, lots of nice lightening, the cool air as you go around this little area its just wonderful
Ooohhhh..I haven't done it at night...for some reason, I had it inmy mind it closed early. Must do next time! Well, now guess it won't be next time but January for sure!

I just cant see them having 2 roller coasters down at the same time at DL/DCA plus RSR that would be ridiculous. Parks would be half empty

During the 60th I don’t remember all of these closures. I remember just before the 60th anniversary started, there were a lot of closures and everyone was upset about it. But not during the 60th anniversary. This is really bad show.

Are you referring to the span of the entire15 mo celebration? One thing to consider is that the attractions are 10 years older than they were for the 60th.

I think its still insane they are doing this at Halloween time..when you have a ticketed event that cost so much and you have two of the biggest rides down....just mind blowing to me how bad of a state DCA is in right now

I used to go most trips but now I just go to Disneyland DCA seems like such a waste when its not an event many times...lines get long not because the rides are too popular but because we have GOTG and Soarin running at lower capacity, less live shows then ever and now rides going down during peak seasons....Avatar, Coco and Avengers can't come soon enough

Exactly!!

Honestly I feel bad for regular full price day ticket guests who assume lines are long yet it's because of low capacity (not actual crowd levels) and selling LL on top of that.

The number of people on DL FB groups who do single day tickets to DCA is baffling to me. I don't think many first time visitors realize the massive discrepancy in attraction volume between the two parks.

Interesting. Maybe the speculation is right that Incredicoaster is refurb PLUS prep work for Coco.
David has chimed in. Looks like they are revamping the e-stop process. Changing the program so when they have an issue, they don't necessarily have to shut down the ride and evacuate. Supposedly stoppages now will only be a few minutes instead of hours. This is also what is planned for BTMR. So the refurb lengths might be similar. When Incredicoaster goes back online, it might give us some insight to how long BTMR will be down for.
