It was all started by a towel...

A very simular thing happened to us. We called bell services to help us with the luggage-I needed help with the Owner's Locker. We left the stroller and little bag and drinks in the room. I had left the tip on the bed. DH says when we got back the tip was gone but of course he didn't tell me til later in the day.

How strange is that? I suppose it is possible that somebody came by to see if the room was vacant, but it was just so odd. I even looked in the trash can to be sure DH hadn't dropped it in there accidentally.

Hmm. It looks like I have already posted most of the pics I have uploaded to Photobucket. The ones that need to be uploaded are in the laptop, which I haven't really unpacked yet. There will be a slight delay while I decide how to go about dealing with the remaining photos.

So we had a good trip! Weather really only got us the afternoon of my birthday. Crowds were only really bad the day after my birthday, which was weird and we never did figure that out. CMs were polite. For the most part other guests were polite. There were definitely some kids at AKL who failed to bring walking feet and indoor voices, but I couldn't pin down exactly where the din was coming from. Those 6th floor rooms catch ALL of the noise from the lobby because they look down INTO the lobby.

We will ABSOLUTELY go back to Yachtsman, Flying Fish, and Citrico's. Those meals were top notch. We will skip Cali Grill, Narcoosee's and Kona next year. Crystal Palace will continue to be my favorite for breakfast.

We did not have any major issues with buses, which was a concern for me with the opening of Kidani. It will be interesting to see how the buses are in December since Kidani will be fully open by then.

I am pleased that we did some new things this trip. The balloon ride at DTD, the China movie in Epcot, the river boat at MK. One of these days we will see the bird show at AK. Maybe. ;)

We are definitely going to taper off the pin trading. I will still buy a few pins each trip, but the trading will be diminishing. As soon as we trade through our current on-hand stock we will be finished with trading. We came home with at least half of the traders we brought this time. I also came home with a lovely bag of counterfeits. :headache: Not sure if DH can get good enoug resolution to photograph the fakes beside the authentic pins. If not I will at least post a description of the differences. We got fake "alphabet" Hidden Mickey pins, fake "blue square" Hidden Mickey pins, and a couple of pins marked Limited Edition that I am fairly sure are fakes as well. Worrying about authenticity really detracts from the trading experience, and we got SOOO much more accomplished in the parks since we weren't stopping to look at lanyards every other minute.

Hi Elizabeth. Welcome home!!! loved the pictures. I so want to do the balloon ride. stephanie will watch from the ground and take pictures!!! :lmao:

As soon as Deb started to describe you, we both said in unison Elizabeth!!!! :rotfl:

I was certain DH was just crazy. I don't think I'll tell him the same thing happened to you.:rotfl2:

The balloon was very cool. I would like to try it at night at some point.
I'm not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing! How did she describe me? :rotfl2: I'm glad you had fun at Magic Meets!

Poor DH. :rotfl: It was weird. I guess it just struck me as being so odd because all week the housekeepers were so very appreciative, they left thank you notes, they stopped DH in the hall to thank him, they stopped me in the hall to thank me another day. The one lady, Zoila, was really fabulous. (Anne, the turn-down service lady was also very nice!) I guess maybe I was more observant about the envelope since they seemed so grateful. :confused3 At any rate, it was gone when I went back for my jacket!

Amusing things I overheard on this trip:

A little boy walking in front of me going into AK said to his mom "I have something dangerous in my shoe." I am not really sure what that meant. Maybe he had a rock or something poking him? It was an odd statement.

In Frontierland at MK a little girl burst out crying because of the banjo and tuba players out in front of the Country Bear show. The parents asked her what was wrong and she said "I don't like this song!" :lmao:

Not so amusing, but very peculiar, were the guys at Guest Services in MGM asking for a refund on their tickets because they didn't understand that MGM is not Universal! :scared1: And they were INSIDE the park. The Guest Relations CM was on his way to get a manager. Not sure how that turned out in the end. DH heard a bit more than I did - he said the guys were claiming to have spent some HUGE amount of money on passes for their whole family, so I don't know exactly what the whole story was. I am also thinking they did NOT get a refund, but I could be wrong.

We checked 4 bags going to MCO, 5 bags coming home. It was $15 for the first bag, $25 for the second, so they got us for $70 going in and $95 coming out. :headache:

:scared1: That's ridiculous!

Glad you had a great trip!

(Oh, and I got $100 that says the pin trading continutes next trip!) :lmao:

When you consider that we paid almost $1100 in airfare, yeah, the bag fees were ridiculous.

We still have enough traders on hand to trade for a couple more trips. Not sure I will mess with it in December since we only have 3 days, but I will bring traders next summer. DS wore his lanyard for a total of maybe 3 hours this trip - I wore mine more than that, but not every day. DH didn't even BRING his lanyard this time.

I'm glad we didn't get into trading...not sure I can handle it :rotfl2:

Random pics from MK, August 1, arrival day. There is a hidden Mickey in the Philharmagic pic. :)

These are little white chocolate toppers you can buy at Writer's Stop to put on cupcakes or whatever.

Hmm. I see that DH was swapping back and forth between cameras, so our Gallery is a little mixed up as far as dates. I am going to attempt to keep going in chronological order, but it may prove to be too much of a challenge! :rotfl2:
