Yesterday, I received the latest Allearsnet newsletter and it contained the following information regarding the 2012 Dining Plan:

-- New restaurants have been added to the Disney Dining Plan for 2012. They include Bistro de Paris, Fulton’s Crab House, Wolfgang Puck Dining Room, Rainforest Café, T-Rex Café, Bongos Cuban Café, Crossroads at House of Blues, Portobello and Paradiso 37 for table service restaurants. The counter-service restaurants are Beastly Kiosk, Mr. Kamal’s, Katsura Grill, Min & Bill’s Dockside Diner, Diamond Horseshoe, Friar’s Nook, Golden Oak Outpost, Tortuga Tavern, Bongo’s Cuban Cafe Sandwich Window and Marketplace Snacks, Trails End Takeaway, Turtle Shack, Paddock Grill, Art of Animation Resort’s Landscapes Cafe (Phase 1 Scheduled to open Summer 2012), Cooling Hut, Lowtide Lou’s, Snack Shack, and Surf Doggies.

There are several restaurants on their list that I know haven't participated in the dining plan in the past such as Rainforest Cafe' and T-Rex.

When I go to the Disney site to secure a reservation at T-Rex it does not show it participating in the Dining Plan.

Anyone have any information?

I'm curious too...in fact I may call TREX, Paradiso, etc...myself this afternoon.

Yes, it is true, starting in 2012. I know posters don't regularly look at the sticky threads, but the 2012 prices and restaurants sticky thread on this forum has a link to the 2012 dining plan brochure. Don't look at the website. During 2011 it will tell you only about 2011, even if you are trying to make a reservation in 2012. Look at the brochure.

Thanks so much! I am one of those who is guilty of not looking at the sticky threads. :guilty: I did look at the 2012 brochure but still don't see those restaurants listed. I am super excited that they will be added though because we had plans to eat at T-Rex and were going to pay out of pocket for the meal. It seems that, now, we won't have to.

This is the link I have to the brochure, not sure if it's the same one as the sticky:

http://media.disneywebcontent.com/StaticFiles/DTA-Domestic/pdf/2012Product/2012Dining.pdf

The brochure has a new format - the restaurants are separated into categories like Quick Service, Character Dining, Signature Dining, and then your standard 1 TS credit restaurants. The new additions can be found under quick service, the 1 TS Restaurants under DTD and also the Signature Dining section.

Thanks! I see them now.

I'm not understanding the 2ts charge for Bistro though. Last August I went there and had the Prix Fix menu. It gave each of us an appertizer, a main plate and a dessert for $48 bucks, which is cheaper than theprice for the dining plan let alone 2 TS credits.

Hope they don't do away with the prix fix selection.

Are you thinking of Les Chefs de France? Le Bistro is the restaurant above Chefs. It's quite a bit more expensive. It hasn't accepted DDP previously.

Le Bistro. I know it never accepted the ddp but last year it had the Prix Fix dinner.

I was wondering if they are going to offer it in 2012 since now it's accepting the ddp.

The prix fix was really a good deal, around 45 bucks per person.

That's interesting. I'd never heard they offered a Prix Fix dinner. I agree. That was a really good deal.

Its likely they will come out with a new menu because they don't currently have a child's menu, and they will most likely need one to be on DDP for 2012. Nothing has been confirmed yet though as far as the menu goes.

This is taken from their menu online...

"Prix fix menu - Your choice of Serrano ham or marinated tuna appetizer or Chilled tomato soup or scallops. beef tenderloin, chicken breast for a main course and chocoate cake or peach clafouti for dessert - $49.00"

Shut UP! I am so excited that T-Rex and the Rainforest Cafes are now going to be on the plan! We usually end up paying out of pocket for one of those each trip and now we don't have too! Yippee!!!
