I was thinking about some of the threads I've been lurking around at on this board and wondering.

There are so many different personalities: I see very liberal people and very conservative. I see very religious and atheists. There are "nice" (whatever that means) people and some that aren't so.

What is it that brings everyone together in Disney? What is that X factor that makes such different people love the same thing?

The escape! The place where you forget all your problems whatever they are!


And the great food - we all can agree on that!

I think what brings us together is that we like to have fun. It truly is enjoyable and if I can't have that now and then and if I can't dream about it the rest of the time, I'm toast! Not that my life in general isn't a lot of fun--it is, but it's also a lot of work. And yes, Disney is a lot of good food!

a lot of us just want to have fun. Disney is a fun place. So magicial and a place where you can go and throw all your troubles away for a while.

until you have to return home to reality.

I agree with everything you've all said, but not everyone in the world "feels the love" so to speak, at WDW. When I was just there, there were those people who weren't into it, you could tell, and yet most of us are planning our next trips in our heads before we finish the one we're on!

I don't think that there would be many arguments on these boards ever if we all just remembered how alike we are in this respect. We do love to go and pretend for awhile. To cast off our daily personas and go be princesses and pirates!

It transports you to a time in your childhood where you didn't care about politics, taxes, money and your biggest concern of the day was whether you wanted to get chocolate, strawberry or vanilla ice cream.

Last night a friend of mine said that they are going to Disney for spring break...they are going to Universal for a day, Seaworld another day, maybe a water park if it's warm and are not going to Disneyworld. So how is that going to Disney? I want to give her the DIS boards URL, but I'm afraid of what they would do to her here--she's my friend, afterall. And they want to stay offsite and see Universal in one day.

I think I convinced her to say onsite at Universal for one night and go to the Universal parks for 2 days and then for their 3rd day either go to a water park if it's hot or Seaworld if it's not.
