So, now that I have your attention...the title of my thread will come in later in this report. For now, you're in the clear for dirty knickers. I will warn you as we approach that subject...
First, an introduction to my family. Hi, I'm Jamie. I'm a 27 year old stay at home mom for the moment. I traveled to Disney World many times as a child with relatives living in the Kissimmee area and a cousin that worked for the Disney company. She was able to get us into the parks free. Woo hoo! Unfortunately, she decided to get married and move to Colorado to be with her husband. Geesh, she only thinks of herself! (kidding, xoxo!) I hadn't been to Disney World since I was 13 years old, and have been dreaming of the moment that I would be able to take my girls to experience the magic of Disney. In fact, when my husband and I were first dating I told him that I couldn't be with someone who would not go with me to Disney World someday.
And that brings me to my husband, Dustin. He's a 31 year old ex-hard rock musician. We've been together 8 1/2 years and this was his first time to go to Disney World! In fact, before me the only amusement park he'd been to was our local one, which isn't saying much. He was skeptical on the whole Disney experience, but was happy to indulge me with my obsession. He's a lovely man and I am lucky to have him! To make sure that he would like this trip, I got La Nouba tickets for him and the older girls.
Our oldest DD, Zillah, is my husband's from his first marriage. I've been with her since she was 2 and she is now 11. She lives with her mother, but we get her every other weekend and for 4 weeks in the summer. We've never had a problem with her before. She's precocious, bright, and always (usually) willing to lend a hand. Unfortunately, this trip tested all of that! It was definitely a struggle at times...But all in all, I believe and hope that she had more fun than not.
Our middle daughter, Lydia, is 6. She just started 1st grade today and has not stopped asking about when we are going back to Disney since we returned. Her goals in life: be a pet doctor, a movie star, a singer, and a Disney worker. She is easy going, happy most of the time, and slightly conceited!
No self esteem issues with her!
And our baby, Helena, who is 1 1/2. And thankfully, it will be the last time we go with a 1 1/2 year old!
She did as well as can be expected, but there were moments of frustration on all ends. But, she was mostly happy, seemed to have a lot of fun, and is now in love with the mouse himself! She is Mickey's biggest fan!
We left on August 4 and got back on August 16. The weather was definitely hot, but not unbearable, and the crowds weren't as bad as I had thought they would be. It was still crowded though. There were a few days of rain. We had 8 day park hoppers with the water parks and more option. We were on the Disney Dining plan and I will include some food reviews. But no food pics, I couldn't bring myself to snap photos of food.
Maybe next time. I'll have a review of the Cirque Du Soleil La Nouba from my husband and older girls, our thoughts on some of the grown up drinks we indulged in, and our thoughts on our Resort: All Star Movies.
