I'm thrilled. I wanted the Contemporary for the last week of August. My DU agent told me nothing was available. I kept checking. First I got the tower room at $250 a night. Couldn't afford that. Then I booked the garden wing room for $183 a night. I just checked the Disney site, and suddenly standard room was available. I am now in a standard room for less than $150 with the tax. Now it's affordable. Keep checking the site if you don't get the room you want. Life can't be better right now!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

That sounds like a discounted rate! Can you book discounted rates on the site. I can't figure it out.

Yes you can book discounts. This discount was probably for the summer saver code. You cannot enter your own discount codes on the Disney website. For example, you cannot check what an AP rate would be...you can only use the discounts specifically listed on the Disney site.

Yes, if you go to their website and click on the purple box in the left hand corner, this is for the summer saver special. Check your resorts from there. Right now all rooms are available at the CR, and just a few days ago it was saying there was nothing available there.

Are we talking about the official Disney website? I know that you can check room availability when booking a package deal, but I didn't think you could just look up room availability alone. I'm confused......

You can check for room only rates when they have a special going on like right now. When you click on the special that is advertised the information is already there for the codes, what it is, etc.

Otherwise you can only check availability for 3 nights on a room only rate (basic pkg)

Not true. You can check room only rates for any number of nights at anytime. Just click on Reservations at disneyworld.com and select Room Only. Insert your dates and resort preference and you'll be quoted the total price including tax. If you look at the deposit required you will know what the per night rate including tax is.

BTW-

This "Room Only" option for longer than 3 days is new since the last time that I visited the site.
This makes comparison shopping a LOT easier.

Enjoy.....

But...you can't use any of the codes available. You can't plug in the AP code or the FL code, etc. It's definitely an improvement, but we need to keep encouraging Disney to keep updating the site to accept the codes. I for one would be happy not to have to call CRO and book everything on line. :) I booked a recent Universal vacation completely on line - it was a wonderful experience!! I know that Disney will get there - slowly but surely!

Try booking on the website. I kept calling trying to get into the CR and everything was sold out. But I kept calling and then checked the website and was able to get my dates that way.

Can you book conceirge rooms online? I keep trying, but only see standard rooms.

I just found the "room only" reservations today also .:) I'm wondering if you can book online (if they have availability) and then when a better rate comes out adjust it then? I'm looking to go back in December but unfortunately it will be during holiday season (no DC rates). Any ideas if they will release any AP rates for this time? I know that last year was not typical, just wondering if I might can get lucky. I don't have an AP yet, but would get one if it would bring the room price down. I hate the thought of paying rack rate, plus I don't think my DH will go for $114/night for ASMu when we got $59 last year for the same time. Thanks, Sandy

I had checked and checked with all the discounts-including AP which was not as good as the summer saver rate- then I got an EMAIL FROM DISNEY for a code and I called today and it saved me $20 a noght at BWI. Got a rate of $169 a night!!!!!!

IT DOES PAY TO KEEP CHECKING!

Good luck to all
Beka's Mom:) :) :) :) :) :) :)
