Check this out!

Our family (2 Adults, 2 Children) previously had...
9 nights at Port Orleans-Riverside
Disney Dining Plan
& 7-day Non-Expiring tickets

A total of $3,242 on Buy 4, Get 3 Promo

But I did my homework and found those new summer discount codes were out...

NOW, our family has...
First 7 nights at Port Orleans-Riverside, Disney Dining Plan, & 7-day Non-Expiring tickets for $2,409 (Still on the Buy 4, Get 3 Promo)
Then our last 2 nights will be at WILDERNESS LODGE - WOODS VIEW, with Disney Dining Plan on AP rate for $616. (In either original or current scenarios, we would be upgrading our 7-day NE tickets to APs to save extra money on an AP upgrade, which is why our last two nights can be at the AP rate.)

That brings our new 9-night stay between two resorts to a grand total of $3,025! We're actually saving over $200! :thumbsup2

True, we could have saved a little more by staying at POR or moving to a value resort at the AP rate, but if we're still saving over $200 than what we budgeted by staying the last two nights at a deluxe... WHY NOT?! :cloud9:

I love it! My Dbf and my Mom don't understand why it's so important to do the planning, but then you SAVE MONEY. That is like someone paid you $200.00 for your time.

GREAT Job!

That's GREAT!!!!!

(shhh maybe I shouldn't say anything but did you check the rates on the new club level promo as well)
I know for the GF the club level rooms end up being cheaper than the standard room ;)

Good example of what I am talking about

Beach club club level is $299 a night (regular price 540)

I did check the WL and it looks like there are no more rooms available with this code in CL.

Good for you! I love doing research too, and it does feel like earning money.

I just made an entire excel spreadsheet pricing out 2 nights at POFQ for our split stay, with and without the dining plan, getting tickets at UT instead of packages, even factoring in getting free mugs with the QSDP for the 2 nights we would be there....by getting AAA discount room only rates, getting tickets from UT, etc, is $187 less than the disney package. I think we can do better than $187 for the 4 CSmeals and 2 snacks for $187! That's including if we pay cash for the mugs.

What about the 10% discount by using an AP pass-along card?

Well, I asked about the least expensive deluxe accommodations, and the guy checked AKL... I was hoping for another and suggested checking on WL... a standard room came up at the same price...

I asked him to price WL both with and without DDP, and in the process, he put me on hold and found that the WL woods-view room was much cheaper than standard! Averaging out to $204/night for the resort, I couldn't pass up the opportunity! (I almost wanted to try calling back after talking to hubby, but I feared losing out on availability... according to you, Praline, I made the right decision! :goodvibes)

But that was really my limit... work is paying for part of the resort expenses, as I will be attending a conference that week, and upon refiguring things, I couldn't put higher priced accommodation, even just for one night, on an expense voucher!

I have to adjust slowly to paying more for resorts... we started out at $50/nt off-property or staying with family only! Eventually we moved on site for a trip when we paid for POP ourselves, and we rented DVC points to stay at a SSR studio (which cost about $10/nt more than a AAA rate at a value at the time)... $200/nt is our next big jump... by our 15th anniversary, I'm sure we'll make it to a Poly concierge or something like that... ;)

well once you go Deluxe you won't go back :rotfl2:
I am now spoiled on resorts ~ I used to be really good about it but now I am a complete spoiled brat princess:
I do try and get the best possible deals that I can...
The new CL code is giving me main building CL (RPC) for $48 more a night than a standard GV room :cheer2:
This is by far the best deal I have ever gotten :cloud9:

Thanks to all that posted so far about these rates ;) I currently have the 4/3 deal for ten (10) nights with base ten day park pass for a family of five (5) but, park tickets for four, since I have a AP. Now that the AP rates came out when doing the math it doesn't make sense to stay with the 4/3 deal for a ten night stay. I thought I was doing something wrong, but in reading these posts, I see you really have to do the math. Thanks again :thumbsup2

I agree, don't want to sound like I'm snooty :snooty:, but ever since we stayed at the deluxe monorail resorts it is pretty hard to plan otherwise. I currently have the Poly for ten nights on the 4/3 deal and can save some $$$ by doing a split stay with AKL. Now I do love the AKL, but Poly is my fave :cloud9: and to go from monorail service to only bus service during early July I feel like :sad1: So, it's between ten nights at Poly with fab monorail service, boating, etc...... or five at Poly and five at AKL to save some $$$ :sad2:

You should check the rates on the new club level code Disney is promo on their site. At the GF ~ sugar loaf is actually cheaper than GV rooms and the main building CL (RPC) is only $48 more a night :cheer2:
I know that code was booking FAST so not sure if there is any more at the poly at this point but you should at least try it as its much better than the AP rate :thumbsup2
Its also better than the 4/3 deal if your staying 10 nights like I am. I ran the numbers and came out cheaper with the new code (GAZ)

In your original you had the dining plan for 9 days in the secound you only had it for 7 , so if you add the dining plan is it that big a difference? But i do understand moving up to Wilderness lodge.

True and if you add the 40.00 per person and the kids at 10.00 it all works out too 200.00 dollars. upgrade yes but saving 200.00 no and you have to worry about what you eat.

Nut, in her original post, OP says they have the Disney Dining Plan for all 9 nights, right?:confused3

"last 2 nights will be at WILDERNESS LODGE - WOODS VIEW, with Disney Dining Plan on AP rate for $616"

Something seems off with your original reservation. If you're only paying $616 for the 2 nights at WL and $200 of that is DDP than it's $200 per night. (excellent!)
The only thing different in your booking is those last 2 nights, you are still having the same 4/3 promo for the 7 days.
I'd have to ask what the heck kind of rate did you get for POR for those 2 days in your original booking? It seems like it would've been paying $300 per night!

Good job in finding the better deal!
