All Star Music has become even better than it was last year.
We saw many improvements in guest services.
Our check in was quick and easy.
There were more staff members and managers in the lobby, by the pool, and around the grounds.
Our group consisted of 2 couples and 2 rooms.
When we checked in at 9 am the rooms were not ready but they put a rush order and we got our connecting rooms soon after noon.

I love the all of the refurbishments.
The rooms look so new.
I love the bowed shower rod and the privacy curtain that separates the vanity area from the sleeping area!

The first day I happened to run into the Recreation Manager of All Star Music by the main pool.
I introduced myself and told him all about the good reviews of the new pilot program that I had read about on the DIS.

(Please see this thread for more info about the pilot program:)

He was very friendly and actually helped point out where our rooms were located when my friend (DH and I had a room and our friends were in a connecting room) asked where they were located.

Our rooms were clean and they were ready early!
There was a lot staff in the lobby and around the grounds. There were several lifeguards around the pool every afternoon. Everyone was friendly and helpful.
We enjoyed watching the activities from the pool during the afternoon and the movies at night.
We saw National Treasure and Monsters Inc. and parts of others.
I have limited mobility so I rent a Mobility Scooter from an offsite company when I visit WDW.
All of the bus drivers were very helpful and friendly.
The buses came often except for the Epcot bus on Monday the 17th. We were in line at 8:30 am and the bus did not come until 9:00. That was the first time in all my stays that I waited longer than 20 minutes for park bus to arrive at ASMu.
The next morning when we went to bus stop there was a supervisor and a couple of CM's at the bus stop. The supervisor was standing in roadway making sure the buses were arriving in a timely manner. We figured there were a few complaints the day before and it was good to see that the management was taking steps to assure that it not happen again.

I was very pleased to receive a phone call from the CM who checked us welcoming us a few hours after we checked in. The manager of the resort called the next day to welcome us and told us to let him know if there were any problems or concerns.
He also called the day before check out to let us know he hoped we had a nice stay and if we needed directions, boarding passes, a rental car, or if they could help in any way just to let them know.

DH talked to a security guard who was by the bus stop Monday evening.
He asked the guard how many park buses did WDW have. The guard said he would find out for us.
That night when we returned from DTD there was message on the phone.
He had called to tell us there were 225 buses. He said he would guessed that there were than that and that were just over 1,000 drivers. Now that is going above and beyond the call of Duty.

We had such a great time , we loved the activities, we had great mousekeepers, and a very nice stay.
There was a Mickey towel animal on our bed and our friends also had one in their room the day we checked in.
I called for pool towels the first evening of stay and within 5 minutes a Mousekeeper brought us a large stack (there were 9 ) of fresh towels. They were still warm!
BTW: I did not need to ask for more pool towels because every day there were two carts of towels by the elevators for the pools.
We were staying in the Calypso building which is located right by the main pool.
I am not sure if all of the buildings at ASMu have towels by the elevators but if you need a pool towel look for them by the elevators in the Calypso buildings.

During our stay we received 2 more towels animals.
I will post a few photos later.

I think the new pilot program is a great success and I am hoping
WDW will continue it and expand it to other resorts!

We enjoyed it so much we are returning next September.
We booked the bounce back special before we checked out!

Any questions ??

Have fun at Disney!:wizard:

Linda,

Thank you.

I am happy to hear that your good friend enjoyed her stay in the Family Suites.

DH enjoyed staying in the Suites last year ( September 2006).
It is really nice having the kitchenette area and a QUEEN SIZE bed in the master bedroom area.

For those interested in learning more about the Family Suites at All Star Music which sleep 6 plese see the FAQ thread:

Have fun planning your next Disney Vacation!:wizard:

1) Glad you had a good time.
2) A lot of the "changes" were things that always were already to be there.
3) At least for the past two years . .
. . . Lobby Managers for each shift were hired for each resort
. . . Other managers were told to "get out of the office and into the lobby"
. . . CM's placed at the bus stops to measure guest bus needs
. . . Managers at/near bus stops to radio for buses when needed
. . . CM's were to call guest's room and leave a welcoming message

4) Sometimes these are not always completed.
5) But, they are getting better about it.
6) Unfortunately, it is costly.

Yes, I do think the resots are tring harder and it did make an impact on my stay.

Here is just one other example.

I forgot to mention that when we went to check in about 9am I went to luggage sevices to pick up the mobility scooter I had rented from an offsite rental company. It had not been delivered yet so I asked at the luggage sevice area if they had the phone number so I could caller Walker Moblity.
The CM could not find it so she asked a manager who was nearby. He said he would go inside to the office and would look up the number for me online.
With in about 5- 10 minutes he came back out with a printout of the info I needed from the Walker Mobility website.
