If I don't have some way of releasing my Disney World energy, I swear, someone WILL shoot me. This may be, perhaps, the only places where people understand what it's like to constantly have Disney on the brain.

With that said, the pre trip report begins!

Before I start spewing off how I pretty much can't wait another minute to go, let me officially introduce myself, my fellow vacationers, and some of the basics of the trip.

This is me :goodvibes :

My name is Nicole, I'm 21 years old, a senior in college, and I long to be a mermaid. (no really, I do.) I'll be graduating in May, and 10 days after, celebrating in the world.

Here is my DBF :lovestruc :

This is Geoff, also 21 (but about to turn 22 in five days), also a senior in college, and he longs to be Batman (no really, he does.) He has been to Disney a few more times than I have, and also has a strong love for visiting the mouse. Though he fully understands that my love is more powerful, and lets me plan however I want :)

This is my DBFF  :

Her name is Courtney, and has never been to Disney World :sad2: She is 21, but has one more year of college left because she switched her major. At the moment, shes not quite as excited as me (which I will account to the fact that she really has no idea what's in store for her) but I know as we get closer, her anticipation will grow.

The basics of the trip:
We will be going from May 27th-June 5th.
Staying at Coronado Springs Resort.
Attending the Pirate and Princess Party on May 31st and (probably) June 4th.

What's still in store:
-My ADR's (in which I will be asking everyone's opinion on, of course)
-My total obsession with the P&PP, and the never ending search for costumes.
-My life, in general, as a Disney World-aholic, and how the anticipation makes me feel (and act) like a 8 year old.

More to come soon!

How exciting, a trip to DW after graduating! DH and I did the same thing after graduating back in 2001 (oh I'm so old :sad2: ) We went to Key West and Disney. It was a great vacation before facing the "real world"!

It's never to early to obsess and plan!

I was thinking about starting my PTR today....and we are not going until Oct 3!

Can't wait to read more of yours!

Hi guys! :wave2:

SO... I ended up calling and booking the pirate: and princess: party for June 4th in addition to the May 31st one :woohoo: I had this feeling if we had the opportunity to do two, and I didn't do it, I would regret it majorly. After officially deciding that we were going, I had to make some switches to some ADR's.

Here's what our schedule looks like:

Tuesday, May 27- Coral Reef / 12:30
Wednesday, May 28- Maya Grill / 6:00
Thursday, May 29- Kona Cafe / 7:10
Friday, May 30- Whispering Canyon / 7:20
Saturday, May 31- Tusker House / 10:05
Sunday, June 1- 1900 Park Fair / 6:00
Monday, June 2- 50's Prime Time / 11:55
Tuesday, June 3- Le Cellier / 6:50
Wednesday, June 4th- Liberty Tree Tavern / 4:30

What do you think?? Look good???

We did Coral Reef last year as our first meal of the trip, and LOVED it. I had a diver and menu made up for my DBF and it turned out great (Here's what they looked like)

I'm going to have them done for DBFF this time. I'm really excited for it, since she will get it probably within her first hour of ever being in Disney World :wizard:

We're doing Maya Grill since we're already at Coronado Springs. Last year we did the Pepper Market like, a million times (totally worth the CS credits, especially being at the resort to begin with) and would like to try out the TS restaurant there. The dinner menu looked pretty good.

Kona Cafe and Whispering Canyon we picked out because the food and atmospheres here looked awesome. I didn't know how I'd feel going to restaurants at other resorts (in comparison to the parks, since we already are there) because I feel like it's kind of a hassle to have to travel around (I feel like i'm wasting precious park time!) but with 10 days, I doubt we will miss anything.

Tusker House was our breakfast/Animal Kingdom choice. We did Donald's Breakfasosaurus, and that was cute, and I like character breakfasts, so hopefully this will be good. Originally I had the Maya Grill reservation here, and the Tusker House earlier in the week, but with the Pirate and Princess Party this evening, a breakfast was the perfect option for this day.

1900 was a given this time around, but we had a hard time deciding if we wanted Alice or Cinderella. We decided on Cinderella, since the dinners are usually better and we had a chance to meet Alice and the gang, but had no opportunities for Cinderella.

I was to 50's Prime Time in like.... 3rd grade with a lot of my family, and I remember it being a good time. The food at MGM doesn't usually thrill me, but I thought I would give this place a shot.

Le Cellier... does this even need explaining?? haha. I feel like every place I read they are talking about how great this place is. I was pumped when I got in at the exact time I wanted :woohoo:

Liberty Tree Tavern was a swap out for Tony's Town Square from earlier in the week. I always seem to book Tony's and then cancel it because I get nervous about the bad reviews, and not really wanting to eat heavy pasta in the summer heat. Plus with the P&PP that night, and my love for turkey and mashed potatoes, I convinced DBF to do LTT. (Even though he makes fun of the fact they advertise "Stouffer's" mac and cheese)

I love the Coral Reef diver picture. We are eating at Coral Reef our first night and I have a diver scheduled to say Happy 40th Birthday to DH. Hopefully it works out!

Now you have me thinking if we should do a second P & P,P during our trip. We are going March 11th, but there is one on the 14th too. hhhmmm :confused3

Wow! How did you go about getting the diver sign and menu? We plan to eat at Coral Reef too :yay:

Call Coral Reef directly. I'll see if I can find the number. They do three divers during a set seating time, and no guarantee because the divers may not be able to get into the tank. It's first request first serve.

I started my Pre-TR last night and we aren't going until November! :rotfl: I just had to get it all out or I would burst! Plus, it helps me get more organized and I can copy and paste details that I see the on boards and elsewhere into ONE location.

I LOVE the diver and menu at the Coral Reef!!! Coral Reef is on our list of places are looking at and I would love it if I could get the menu made and the diver! For the menu, you just call them as well and send them pictures? Ooooh, love it!! I really wanted to do a few special things for DH, but funds are limited-this is perfect! THANK YOU!

And I agree, your BFF has no idea what is in store for her. DH and I aren't even Disney-freaks, but we LOVE WDW! She'll be hooked!

Looking forward to your updates. popcorn::

NO, it's not too early to plan and be excited. I haven't even finished planning our Sept 2008 trip yet and I'm already bugging DH about when we'll go after our sept trip!!

Don't be scared of Tony's...I had always avoided it because of the bad reviews I'd read. But in 2006, we gave it a try with free dining...and we LOVED it!! We even ate there again a few days later. It was our favorite meal of the trip!

Coral Reef was a close 2nd though!

you know, i feel like this little guy right here :woohoo: can pretty much be me 24/7. i feel like i walk around all the time with that stupid smile dancing about disney world all the time.

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

anyways, today marks my official double digit start! In 99 days exactly, at this very moment, I will be in Epcot (probably hugging Figment since every time I went to see him last year he was all alone :() 99 days seems like a long time away, especially when dealing with disney, but when I think about it... I have mid terms coming up in 2 weeks already! Which means I'm already half way through the semester-- which went by super fast. And from now until Disney, I have: DBF's birthday (Tuesday actually :)), spring break, a trip to Indiana for a national conference I got accepted to, my birthday and graduation. Hopefully thats enough to keep me semi-occupied!

Now... if anyones interested, I have become a Pirate and Princess Party fiend pirate: princess: Heres the deal behind the parties for me... we booked the trip in December, at the time tickets for the party were obviously not up for sale or even announced. Later in the Dis announcements I saw how they were adding new dates, and we would be able to attend. I was soooo super psyched. At the time I was planning on the May 31st one, although I'm not sure why I didnt realize we could be going to two. Anyways, I call and ask, and they tell me no such thing exists. I was totally bummed out. A few weeks went by, and I hadnt really been on the Dis boards in a while, so I went on one night and just by chance found a thread saying they went on sale THAT day. (if I may... :woohoo: ) So I called and got my May 31st tickets.

Then I realized.... costumes! yesssss! Sadly, I think within 3 minutes of getting off the phone with Disney, I was already researching what to wear. Do we all go as the same theme? Do we do pirate or princess? I knew that if I had the opportunity to be the Little Mermaid in disney world and didnt take it up, I would kick myseldf years later, so it was pretty much immediately decided I would be Ariel. DBF and DBFF didnt really care, so I'll probably be in charge of finding them outfits. Being Disney, I knew I couldnt just walk in with fins and a purple bra, and I didnt want a generic mermaid costume. After some researching, and emailing the company back and forth, I found one that I really liked (and it even came THE NEXT DAY after I ordered it-- again... :woohoo: )

and yes.. it totally came with the red hair. There are some minor changes from those pictures now.. like I wasnt wearing the sleeves right, lol (they need to be actually up on my shoulder), and I have to pull the back strings tighter to make sure the top of the fins dont pucker out, and I ironed out the bottom so the fins are much smoother. I was too excited when it first came though, that I threw it on right away and made DBF take pictures :sad2:

After officially deciding we would do the June 4th party too, I was pretty happy that I could have a pirate day as well. Let me tell you how hard it is to find one. Well... maybe I'm just being really picky. I don't want one with sleeves (I KNOW I will get too hot too fast) I dont want a long one, but I dont want a super short one that my butt cheeks will hang out of (which seems to be the case in every outfit I find) I found a cute one that I liked:

piratedress.jpg

but again, I'm worried about the length. I could always get a pair of beige biker shorts or something to wear underneath, but I'm not sure of its appropriateness for Disney and dont want to get dirty looks from anyone.

Being that we are going to need two costumes and that will get expensive for college kids (especially if your me and wont settle on something just--- eh) and my Grammy is a super seamstress, she agreed to make us pirate outfits. She just said to find pictures of what we want, she'll get the material, and we will go down for a measuring. Which I think, is probably best, so now I can take a costume I like, and if its too short, I'll just have Grammy make it a little longer.

I'm still going through a pirate: and princess: high, so I'll be back with more obsession with it later, haha.

Oh I'm loving your report! How exciting to be heading down there after graduation.

I love your Ariel costume and the pirate one./ But like you said I think it's little short. Lucky you to have such a great Grammy and offering to make your costumes! Looking forward to more!

Hey! Count me in on your trip report! Looks like I'll be leaving just as your arriving. And where have I been? I had no idea about the P&PP parties in May! Looks like I have some research to do. :surfweb: I love love love your Ariel costume. Cant wait to hear more!

Too early??? Is there such a thing in this community?:lmao: Hope you have a great time. Looking forward to hearing all about it.

I LOVE your pre-trip report so far! I am also going in May with my DF to celebrate our college graduations (great minds think alike I guess :thumbsup2 ). Looking forward to reading more!

Remember me?

Hiiiiiii!
So glad to hear you are planning a return trip! My boyfriend and I went our first time for my college graduation too!! What a great celebration! Your BFF will totally love Disney!!

We are planning a trip for either August or Thanksgiving... depends on when my cousin gets married this summer and my school calendar (ah the life of a teacher) for next year!

In any case, you are missing the most amazing travel guide! Its called a Passporter and since I work in a high school the DisBoard site is blocked at work so I have been starting my vacay planning on the Passporter forums. I had one our first trip and upgraded to the Deluxe this year so I can just get refills each year.

Anyways, my AIM sn is still MyRapunzal so if I don't get to read along too closely hear because I can't go on at work feel free to IM me!
:)
