It is so sad to watch friends turn on each other.
Just because we have different opinions doesn't mean that we need to approach our differences with sarcasm, bitterness and meanness. The amount of sarcasm I see lately hurts to the core.
This is an awful time for the world as a whole. It's especially awful for those people who have loved ones they're not sure they are ever going to see again.
We come to this place every day, most of us. We come back, even when we've said we never will. There is something here....more than a love of Disney, that draws us here.
I don't know. What I do know is that at times like these, it's more important then ever to hang on to the things we care about, for dear life. This goes for the entire world.
We are all passionate about our beliefs. We are especially passionate when our world is being flipped upside down.
We need to remember who we are speaking to...Not a country, not a government, but a human being who has cares, concerns, loves....just as they always have since we have come to know them. Most people are not that different from one day to the next.
Cherish our friends here. Cherish our time here. Don't get me wrong, many of us do. Don't let our passion in awful times ruin the things we have come to care about so much.
Buckalew posted a story about the care and concern her husband had in a situation he encountered.
I said then that the world would be such a wonderful place if each one of us showed that kind of care and concern for other people, all the time.
Sounds unrealistic?
It starts with me.
It starts with you.
