Okay, so we've been "planning" on going to Disneyland for our anniversary next May. Ours is the 27th, and my brother conveniently scheduled his wedding on the 23rd in Oklahoma City so as not to interfere with our DL plans :thumbsup2 (okay not really but thanks Trent!!!). Our nearest airport from our home is DFW, so we've been watching the fares in both cities forever. We've seen a couple of good deals go by, but we weren't ready to book it yet. We've been confident that if we were supposed to go, the fares would come down. Well today I randomly checked again and we can travel round trip from OKC (just a short drive away, and we'll be there for the wedding anyway!) for $174 a person!!! I called my husband at work and asked if I should book immediately, and he was so excited. That is a great rate from our direction, and now the trip is official.   :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:    :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I know I didn't even make much sense above, but I am just too excited to edit. I wanted to share with my new friends on the Disneyland board!

How exciting! I know you will have a fabulous time - and it's even better when you get good airfare :cool1:

YAY!!!! I want to be there around then too, my birthday is the 25th. So this year its on Memorial Day. LOL Oh well, could be worth it!! :) LOL

anyway, have a great time, maybe we will see each other there! :)

WHERE did you find that airfare???

I've been watching different sites everyday; we're from DFW, and the high airfare is what has been holding us back.

OMG, HELP PLEASEEE!!! I would appreciate it so much if you told me which airline you booked through!! This could make our dream plans become reality, too! :yay:

Thanks - it is exciting, and it makes it seem much more REAL. No cancelling/changing plans now.

Definitely! Our anniversary is always Memorial Day weekend, but sometimes it is nice as you don't have to have so many days off work to have time together. At least you might get in for free that day (or the gift card, fast passes).:wizard:

Hello fellow Texan. :wave2: I guess I wasn't very clear in my post - but it is out of OKC on American. We connect through DFW, but the DFW airfare is HORRIBLE. It doesn't make sense that we are getting two extra flights (from OKC to DFW and then back from DFW to OKC) at a much cheaper rate. Nothing is cheap from here it seems. Since we'll be at my brother's wedding the night before, we'll just stay at an airport hotel there and then drive home when we return. It'll be weird to land in DFW and have to wait to connect back to OKC only to drive home again, but the money savings is worth it.

If you are willing to drive to OKC, the fares are there today!!

We're in Keller by the way. :goodvibes

Aw! I'm sure by the time we drove and paid for parking, it'd all be about the same with the airfare I keep finding. It's so aggravating! I haven't found anything under $248 (which, is USAirways) out of DFW. We paid an arm and a leg for our airfare to WDW for our honeymoon this past June, and now, they have a flight from DFW to Orlando for $190! SO aggravating! I don't understand our airport, at all!!

Congrats on such great luck!!! I'm going to keep hoping we get lucky, too!

I will send good thoughts your way for a great deal - I understand about our airport. Growing up in KS we thought we were so unfortunate as DFW seemed to have great deals. Now that I live here it seems like they are never good. We watch them all the time for various trips (to see family, etc.) and can't believe the prices. It is luck if you find one! Hope you find your magic soon. :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:
