It doesn't matter how many times I go to Disney - I just keep missing......

I've been to WDW and DL a total of 6 times and for whatever reason I keep missing Cinderella, Donald Duck, Illuminations, Fantasmic, and Toy Story characters. Even when I've been real close - In line and waiting to take that perfect picture. And.... fate would have it.... Donald needs a break. Yeah, I know that it’s hot in that suit in August - but come on - I need that autograph and picture of Donald.

Let’s not even talk about Cinderella. With my DH refusing to pay for the Cinderella breakfast/Lunch/Dinner meal - I guess we will never get her autograph. My DD and I (mostly me) have the autograph of all the princesses but her!! :sad1:

Donald Duck - well I've NEVER seen him at the parks. I'm kind of surprised to. We spent a lot of time near that new 3D film starring Donald - Philarmagic (misspelled) and didn't see him once last summer - or was that summer before (can't remember)!!

Those firework shows are late and my DH will only "allow" us one late day in the park – this summer we will be leaving him at Emerald Island. My DD wants to see another fireworks show.

Oh, man. I can let all that other stuff slide, but not seeing Illuminations??? I'd be crushed! That's absolutely the highlight of the trip for us. I can't imagine not seeing it! It's a "must do" for us on every trip. Seriously, it starts at 9pm. It's not even what I would consider a "late" night - even with a toddler. Make sure you see it next time!

My and my brother and his friend were in line to see Minnie and Goofy together, and the CM said that they were going in in about 5 minutes. We were scared, because we really wanted to snag a picture with them. We inched closer and closer, and I was afraid that at any moment, they'd go in. Luckily we got the picture in. Phew!

I think they should come up with a new policy for greeting characters. They should close off the line so nobody else can line up, then finish off the rest of the people who've been waiting for a while. That way its fair for everyone who's been in line.

We always manage to miss the fireworks and the parades! I just can't drag us away from the rides early enough to get a decent seat... :confused3

Next time we're going to do the Fantasmic dinner package because I'm determined to see it!

For us it's the fireworks at MK. We used to go off-season, and MK would close at 7:00 p.m. with no fireworks. When we went when they did have fireworks, we were too worn-out and tired to stay until 11:00 for them. Last trip we went in January, and it was too cold! So for our next trip, January again, we're going to be all rested up and bundled up, and watch those Wishes fireworks no matter what!

I can't imagine a trip without Wishes, SpectroMagic, Illuminations or Fantasmic!

We always seem to miss Daisy! We can never find her or when we do the line is closed!

We are forever on a duck hunt!

I see from your ticker that you leave shortly for the World, I wanted to tell you I just returned from the World on June 5th and you get to the MK early enough, Donald has been out every day in town square, shortly after you enter the park, and also another good place to meet Donald is over at Epcot, he has been seen a lot in the Character Connection room, and the place never seems too crowded, and he was also by the hat at MGM almost each day, he rotates though with Daisy and Chicken Little so you have to time that just right because they rotate I believe like every twenty minutes. But I hope this helps, I know how it is to really want to meet a certain character. :)

Sorry I missed your part about Cinderella, she is my favorite Disney Princess, a good place to find her, is later in the afternoon over at County Bounty where they have all the character lines, she is usually in there, I believe towards the later part of the day. :)

I'm another one who has never seen Daisy in any of the parks between DL and WDW!! She is my favourite character!! Also at WDW, I have never been on Snow White's Scary Adventures ( it used to be that I could never find it and then once I did the lines were HUGE! Then my cousin was afraid to go on it...finally got on it last year at DL!) so far I've also always missed Buzz Lightyears Space Ranger Spin but I am determined to get on it this time! :)

I have been to WDW 6 times and keep missing the Liberty Belle Riverboat. By golly, I am riding that thing when we go in January!

The two things I keep missing are the Flag Retreat in the MK and the Fife and Drums in Epcot. Our next trip I've explicitly set times in the plan to see both.

I just might actually see Fantasmic this time around as well.

I've seen wishes, illuminations, and fantasmic (twice!). I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend fantasmic. IMO, it was easily the BEST nighttime/firework show!

But I have never seen any of the parades.... I plan to see them this August though!

Maybe if you stop by CRT around supper, they would let you just sneak into the lobby to get a picture with Cinderella? (We had supper there last year and that's where Cinderella was posing for pictures).... Doesn't hurt to ask.

You are in luck, back in Toon Town at WDW, at the County Bounty where they have the character meet and greets, they now have a home for Daisy back there, she is in the one line so you will have a chance to meet her when you go again. :)

Oh My Gosh! you poor thing! We have been lucky enough to all of the above ACCEPT for Donald Duck! we have never seen him there either! we live not to far away from Disneyland so we go pretty often...I've only seen him there TWICE! he's a hard one to track down.
Illuminations is a MUST SEE! I am amazed every time I see it! I have always wanted to take a boat out to see it but you have to make a reservation like a year ahead of time! we keep trying but keep missing.
GOOD LUCK to you on your future trip! Helen

^The dinner package is the way to go! :thumbsup2 We've done it almost everytime we've seen Fantasmic and it's worked out great (except once.....but I won't go into that). The one time we didn't use it was AWFUL. It was spring break, so the park was already crowded, and it was like a stampede when they let the line in to be seated! (That's how I got my first tag, haha.....we felt trampled).

I agree, Epcot's Character Connections is the place to go for Donald. I was there last week with a friend, and we stumbled upon this character spot while looking at the flower and garden festival center. There was absolutely NO line for mickey mouse, pluto, minnie, chip and dale, OR donald! We got pictures and great character interaction in 15 minutes flat! :goodvibes

We got Donald last year at Chef Mickey's. While the other characters hit the tables, he stood at the entrance for pictures and autographs. Don't know if he's a regular there or not though. Or you could just try the character breakfast at Donald's Breakfastosaurus at Animal Kingdom if allearsnet is correct.

We have always missed Fantasmic and the Lion King show at AK. I WILL NOT miss these this August...mark my words!!!!! :rotfl2:

I can never find I think her name is Lady Devine in Animal Kingdom.

Well because of my addiction to the DIS boards my last 2 trips I have done just about everything.....but I have yet to see Sword in the Stone and Beauty and the Beast! I always miss them by about 10 minutes :guilty:

We have been to WDW eight times and have NEVER seen an afternoon parade. We are always back at the hotel for a swim/rest/beverage. I am looking over our schedule for this year (next week) and it looks like we will miss the parades again.
