"It all started with a whopping price error…” 10/24 The Perfect Storm of Opportunity

First of all, I blame you and your trip report for ruining my day of studying. I just read the whole thing in one sitting and haven't gotten anything else done today.

I'm sorry for your loss but I'm glad you were able to make it back to Disney to finish up your trip. It sounds like you had an amazing trip and are planning another great one. And yes, you can pay for your DDs children's meals OOP and use the credits later on for the rest of your party. Hope you have a great trip!

:thumbsup2 Good to know. She is not an adventurous eater at all and I know she is going to frequently want the kids meals.

Hi there,
I just found your trip report today and have enjoyed it so.
I have to tell you I too laughed and cried reading this! During our last visit October of 2008 we were staying at Old Key West when I received a phone call that my father passed suddenly. As you describe how you felt I wanted to give you a hug because I remember those feelings.
I have planned a trip to return to Disney in January, I am worried at how difficult it will be 2 years later. I really am going to try to smell the roses and enjoy the small things.
Thank you so much for sharing.
Kristin

Dear A&Bmama, I've spent the last 3 hours reading your trip report..it was amazing!!! Thanks for sharing your memories...I'm really sorry about your father...You have really nice kids... I was really glad to read that you are planning another Disney trip (uhuu, another nice TR!!!):cheer2 You and your family will love Universal, IOA and Sea World! They are really nice parks, w/ tons of things to do...I'm going to WDW in december w/ my family...I'm so looking forward to it...OH! Just one more thing: I went to Canada 20 years ago and I think it was the most beautyful place I've ever been...It's really different from Brasil( and way much colder) but, boy , what a nice place!!!!

We have stayed at POR and POFQ before. We liked both but we found that the food court at POR was better and we just generally liked the resort better. I am really looking forward to it. I'll be sure to keep my eyes open for you and introduce myself. Lol, I will certainly be around the pool! Both my kids are lifeguards so we tend to gravitate toward water activities!

My kids are actually grown so we are going during the university break. My daughter is still in university and my son just graduated last spring so he is taking his first "paid" vacation and joining us. We will fly from different locations but we will meet in Toronto and fly together from there. Very exciting!:goodvibes

Thanks for reading. I'm sorry to hear that you went through the same things we did. Overall were able enjoy WDW very much when we went back.

We went back to AKL to buy a mug that DH had wanted and to have some more zebra domes. I did find it a little depressing being back in the same place where I had spent those first painful hours. For that reason, I don't know that I would ever choose to stay at AKL again. It is a shame really, such a wonderful place but knowing I'd be facing those memories put it further down the ranking of resorts for me.

Thanks for reading my TR! I'm sure you guys will have a great time in December. I want the next trip we take to be a December one. I would love to see all of the decorations!

A&B,

I logged on to gather some hints and tips for our 1 day trip to MK with my husband and 3 granddaughters and their parents in February. When I saw the title about a whooping price error. I started to read, it's been about two hours now and I have to admit I cheered, I cried and laughed. What an inspiration you are!

Although we will we be in different parks the day we will be there, your story will be on my mind and I will cast some pixie dust into the sky and hope some lands on you and your lovely family pixiedust:pixiedust:

Thank you for your heart rendering Trip Report.

Now, I need to get to planning - back to the dilemma of a stay on or off site. And how we can get to ride on the "Momorail" (My GD's word) if we are only doing one park.

Since this is going to be their first trip, we want to be there to see the looks on their little faces. I know we are doing the right thing now, even with a budget.

:goodvibesYou will have such a good time at Disney with your Granddaughters. I think is especially nice to see it through their eyes.

I am looking forward to the day when I can take some grandchildren of my own there.

Great trip report. I cried like a baby through the entire thing! Happy and sad tears, sorry to hear about your Dad. :(

This is the first trip report I have read in a long time, and low and behold its by a fellow maritimer! :)

All together now... it's a small world after all.....

Arghhh, ear worm! Now I can't stop hearing it in my head. :lmao:

Thanks for reading my TR. Where in NB are you from? I see you are headed to the world soon. I hope you have a great time!

I usually lurk on TR's, but I had to comment on this one! I've spent the day reading your report off and on. Kudos to you for having the gumption to go back to Disney so soon! I really hope you write a TR; I love your writing style.

So sorry about your Dad. I had tears rolling down my face reading it, I can't imagine how it felt to re-live it while writing it.

We're going to be in Disney the same dates as you! We're getting married Feb. 15th on the Boardwalk. We also have an ADR at Ohana the same night as you guys, are you doing dinner or breakfast there?

So us and the rest of Halifax will be there lol. Less than a hundred days to go!

Congratulations on you upcoming wedding!!! A Disney Wedding :cloud9: that will be awesome! Are you doing a small wedding or will a lot of family and friends travel with you?

We are going to be at 'Ohana on the 14th for dinner, I think my ADR is for 7pm. What time are you going to be there? We are celebrating the 22nd Anniversary of our engagement that night. I can't believe 22 years has passed. Makes me feel so old... :rolleyes1

Do you have all of your travel arrangements made? I just booked our flights last weekend. I had been going crazy looking for something with a decent price AND decent flight times. Finally, I booked us to travel in and out of Tampa. We did that drive when we departed Disney after my father passed and it wasn't bad at all. Besides, I could get a flight that arrived at 2:30 in Tampa but not until 11:30pm if I flew into Orlando. We are renting a car anyway so it seemed like a no-brainer to spend a little extra time driving once we arrived. The flights cost a little more than I wanted to pay but the Westjet credit helped.

Anyway, thanks for reading my TR and dropping me a line. I'm sure I will write another one, how else will I get over my post Disney depression? ;)
