While it’s true for most of us, it all started with a Mouse. This time for me, it started with a lie. Just a little lie. Ok a little lie that kind of grew arms and legs and all sorts of appendages.

It started back in September…. I was just coming off of my Disney high from our big August trip when I learned a dear friend, Sharkb8 would be in WDW during January cheering on her DH for Marathon Weekend. Then I found out my other dear friend PrincessV would be heading over to hang with SharkB8 for the weekend. And much like Dr. Nigel said, “One little spark of inspiration…..” I jumped online and hit up the travel website to start searching for cheap airfare, ’cause really that was the deal breaker.

I sat for days, hoping, waiting, praying that something would come through and then I could plan my attack, stalk my prey and pounce! Well, the stars aligned and airfare dropped so low, it would have been sacrilege to pass it up. But wait, I hadn’t even discussed the trip with DH. I knew if I waited, we would lose the great deal. What to do, what to do???? I made an executive descision and pushed the button. Something I couldn’t believe I’d actually done. Would DH be able to get the time off? Would he kill me if he couldn’t? Would he kill me anyway? Oh, and what will he say when I tell him I’m planning an adults only trip? And that I already cleared it with my parents to watch our 2 kids. I needed to come up with a great story. A gigantic carrot to place in front of his face…. A big, little lie. :teeth:

And I had to do it quick like! The trip was a little more than 90 days away… I had to think fast.

And so I did. I came up with a little white lie that I knew he’d never find out because the only people who would know about it are YOU! Bwuahahahahaha!!!!

So, DH comes home from work and I pounce. I went into all kinds of detail, saying the SharkB8 and PrincessV families would be there and so would our other dear friends the Mominators, whom we‘ve all vacation 3 years in a row together. Since I know he loves our dear DIS friends as much as I do, it was easy to convince him we needed this trip, no we deserved this trip. He even went so far as to call it our belated Anniversary trip! Whew! Now that I dodged that bullet, let the planning begin!

:stir:

And now some intros!

First up, our lovely children, Maddie and Evan, who we happen to be ditching this weekend. Hehehe. Poor little things, think we’re going to Georgia to visit friends. Yeah, another little lie.

That’s DH, Andy and me, Tracy. We live in Sothern California, just a stones throw from Disneyland. Yeah, we’re pretty much Disney Nerds, sort of. We don’t belong to D23 or anything. ;)

And here are a my parents, Waldo and TE, who will be caring for our little offspring. Yes, I regret to inform you Waldo will not be starring in this trip report.

So once I got the :thumbsup2 from Andy, I went ahead and started the planning process. We had enough points left to book a studio for the weekend, but sadly there was no room at the inn. It was only mid-October and all the DVC studios were completely sold out! I jumped on the WDW website and found a v…v…v….value resort available for Friday and we could use points at Saratoga Springs for Saturday and Sunday. My choices were ASMusic and POP! Oh gawd! It was punishment, wasn’t it? For the little lie(s)?

I went ahead and booked POP! Ugh.

Ok, I know some of you like, even love POP! And hey, that’s ok with me. In fact, some of my very dear friends love to stay at the POP! And these are the friends who know darned well I am in fact a resort snob. :snotty: It’s not really my fault, though. Our first trip to WDW we went in all out. We stayed at the Polynesian for 5 glorious nights, where we had poems lovingly placed on our pillow, along with room services and booze to-go. It was heavenly.

On our second trip, we stayed at POFQ and our 3rd trip Saratoga Springs And that’s when I learned, there’s a HUGE difference between a DELUXE resort and a MODERATE resort. A HUGE DIFFERENCE. Thus a Disney resort snob was born. Oh, and a DVC owner, too! :teeth:

With our hotel room booked, our flights booked, all that was left was to re-book our hotel reservations. I happened to stumble upon a great AP price for a room at the Beach Club, so naturally I canceled POP! And switched over to Beach Club. Whew! Crisis averted. I think there may have even been a pool amongst my DIS friends to see if I would actually stay at POP! :lmao:

Our final itinerary was complete and we booked a few dining reservations, one for Bistro de Paris and one for Grand Floridian Café, with our friends.

UP NEXT: Bring on the Fudgcicles and don't blow it!

I think POP is cool, but my dh told me never again.
The place made his head hurt.
We only stayed 1 nite, before we checked into the BC-those Friday and Saturday nite points are killers-and I don't even have points, just rent them.

Are you and LL., abandoning the summer TR's?

Oh please you blew the over/under in less than 48 hours:rotfl2:

UP NEXT: Bring on the Fudgcicles and don't blow it!

popcorn::

Great start T!

None of us thought you would be at Pop, sorry hon. :)

I hope you have a wonderful time!

Yeah we knew it would never happen, you at the Pop was just laughable :rotfl:

Have a fantastic time T and give everyone a huge hug from me :grouphug:

Well, of course! 'Cause as LL always tells us, "You've gotta SPEND it to SAVE it!" :teeth:

Poor little things, think we’re going to Georgia to visit friends.
Well... you are, technically, going through GA, and you are visiting friends... :rotfl:

Yeah, we’re pretty much Disney Nerds, sort of. We don’t belong to D23 or anything.
:lmao:

Yes, I regret to inform you Waldo will not be starring in this trip report.
Um, I'm willing to bet Waldo could make a guest appearance in some way. Shall we drunk-dial him from Tambu?

I think there may have even been a pool amongst my DIS friends to see if I would actually stay at POP! :lmao:
Dude. NONE of us would take that kind of crappy bet.

I think POP is cool, but my dh told me never again.
The place made his head hurt.
:rotfl::rotfl2::lmao: I've never even stayed there - just drove through - and it had the same effect on me!
Are you and LL., abandoning the summer TR's?
Yeah, are you?! popcorn:: :rolleyes:

See you soon! :woohoo::yay::cool1:

I am SO in...this is a great start!

And I'm a bit of a resort snob too.

You know...to get away with buying tickets without his say, you could tell your DH that it's a gift. A gift that he's paying for.

POP! Knew you wouldn't be there.

I'm sure you are having fun! and warm!

I think POP is cool, but my dh told me never again.
The place made his head hurt.
:lmao: The pictures alone give me a headache.
Are you and LL., abandoning the summer TR's?
I can't say for LL, but I think my ship has sailed. :guilty:
Oh please you blew the over/under in less than 48 hours:rotfl2:
Pshew! So close, but so far away!
None of us thought you would be at Pop, sorry hon. :)
You guys have no faith!
Yeah we knew it would never happen, you at the Pop was just laughable :rotfl:

Have a fantastic time T and give everyone a huge hug from me :grouphug:
Ok, I'm starting to get a complex, now!;)
Jumping onboard, and looking forward to reading!
