With our trip on the horizon, I’d been watching the weather rather closely. We had nice temps here and I was hoping WDW temps would duplicate it. Yeah. Right. Out of nowhere, the temperatures decided to tank like my 401K! The forecast for the weekend was right around 40-ish degrees. Yes, you read that right. 40-ish degrees. I panicked! We don’t own winter gear, I didn’t even think they sold serious winter gear in So. Cal.

Not being fond of the cold, nor the heat for that matter, I headed out to find us some protection from the nasty forecast. Uh huh… good luck with that. I was lucky enough to have a pretty decent fleece jacket and found a quilted coat from Macy’s at a great price. I purchased long underwear (for the first time in my life) and stocked up on cute scarves and gloves.

Then I emailed V, LL and Kate and asked the most embarrassing question.

“How does one wear long underwear?”

I was clueless. Do you wear it in place of underwear, with underwear… what??

Andy scoffed at me. Forty degrees was no big deal, he didn‘t need no stinkin‘ scarf or gloves. And then he quickly dubbed me “Wonder Woman” in my brightest, shiny blue silks. Andy laughed at me so much that went to return them, but was lucky enough to find the very last pair of white ones.

And now the fun part….packing all this crap. It was ridiculous trying to squeeze all these coats, hats, scarves, gloves in 2 carry-on bags. I knew there was no way we’d ever be able to pull that off. I sucked it up and pulled down the big dogs. No joke - I packed 4 of my warmest jackets and 2 of Andy’s, every single long sleeved shirt we both owned and lots of t-shirts for layering.

Let it me known I’m a lettuce. I’m ashamed to admit it. I’m a lettuce. I have to be kept at a perfect temperature. Too hot, I wilt. Too cold, and I’ve got freezer damage. I’m a total wimp. J

We had more luggage than our summer trips with 4 people. It was terrible to go from 2 carry-on sized bags to 2 of the largest suitcases, 1 carry-on case and 1 DVC totebag. Ugh.

Hmmm...about that summer TR Marisa... I've pretty much forgotten all about it to be honest with ya! 2009 basically sucked the life right outta me to where I couldn't even finish a TR. How sad is that?!?!

But it's a new year and I'm BACK baby!!

What didn't you like about it? I prefer their coffee to any other coffee I have ever found! My bad.

It was really weak, but not as bad as the Nescacrap we were forced to consume later. I really like strong coffee... jet fuel if I can find it, French or Italian roast if not.

I wasn't sure which one would be best. I was working with weather I wasn't accustomed to. I brought a wool-ish coat, a quilted coat, a fleece jacket and a hoodie. Never wore the hoodie, except to bed.

Big Bear! I've skied there. My niece is lovely, but a little scattered these days - started grad school, stopped, did this that and the other... But it's a nice place to be "lost" if you KWIM.
